help with plants

  1. ok so i have some plants under a 150w hps flowering currently. there's a glass piece to separate the bulb from the plants however i've noticed some bleaching and curling of the leaves that have reached 2 inches from the light. is this from the heat or the temperature??
don't think it gets hotter than 85 in there at certain times of the day.

  2. i'll post pics in a few min. it's a pretty ghetto setup :p

  3. Pictures would help dude

Temps and wrong pH can make leaves curl I believe, 2 inches from the light would toast them under my HPS but thats a 600w. Does it burn your hand if you hold it the same distance away as the curling leaves?

  4. It sounds like you have an enclosed reflector. Are you hooking up some ducting to it so you can air cool your light with a fan?

No, its got a built in fan i think lol. do u think my ph is too high? there's dolomite lime in the soil so is that making the ph too high? i have ph down if thats the case. the soil is scotts moisture control but im switching to miracle grow organic and all organics. i have some azomite, rock phosphate, liquid worm castings, and mycorrizae coming in the mail from amazon soon.

  6. The lime brings pH down, you should test it.

Can you not get the light higher or tie the girls down to see if its the heat

  7. ill see if i can tie em down lol

  8. you got lots of plants dude, I don't think that light has a built in fan  looks like it just has a built in ballast. As I said I use a 600w HPS but your light looks to close.

    Good luck
