  1. ok i need some help

i just went to radio shack to get a microscope so i can check my trich's

how do i take a picture thru the microscope? just hold the camera up to the eye piece and take a picture?

also, how do i check my plant? do i clip a sample off? what do i clip off?

    need help plz.

  2. never took a picture through a microscope, but i do take pictures through a telescope, which i imagine is just the same thing,if so,just hold the camera to the eyepiece, you'll have some vignetting round the edges, use the zoom function to get rid of it,also if you have macro on your camera, try enabling and disabling it,see what gives best results, and a small tripod might help if you find things a bit shaky, remember every movement is magnified too, hope this helps

  3. also, i clipped a piece of leaf from the bud and its not like complete covered with trichomes... is this normal or is it like really premature or w/e

  4. why are you worrying about cutting off leaves? i finished my first grow about 2 months ago, so i'm still new to this whole game, but what i learned with the trichome issue is to just don't sweat it, really. just look at them, and regardless of the number of trichomes, just focus on the color. milky white is the psychadelic high, brown is the lethargic high. just harvest when what you think is best for yourself is reached. i harvested my plant when it was about 95% milky white, and i got a mind-blowingly fun high. and also, when it was on the plant, i thought the trichs looked sparse, but after drying, they could hardly squeeze next to eachother. peace

  5. do colors of the hairs really matter? it looks like its ready to harvest, but the hairs aren't colored yet, they're almost all white with some of that brown/amber color

  6. i bought that same 'scope. and yes i clipped a piece of leaf from the top most bud to check color of trichs, and did this every week with every plant. without cutting a piece you'll never hold that thing steady enough to see clearly (at least i could not, very sensitive to movement). and i'm not too sure that you can take pics through this 'scope, you might want to call or email radio shack to answer that one. good luck, i considered the $10 i spent on mine some of my best $ spent.

  7. The colour of the trichomes are FAR more important than the colour of the hairs.

But are you sure you are not confusing the two??

  8. nah im not confusing the two. before i had bought this microscope, i was told that when the hairs change colors, its ready. the hairs on the bottom sets of bud have changed somewhat, but not really that much on the main big bud at the top. when i clipped a bud leaf off and checked it with that microscope, some of them are amber and they look sorta ready to harvest, but the hairs haven't changed. also, the bud leafs arent completely covered with trich's.

and i asked how to take a picture with this becuase i saw a thread and the kid took a picture of his bud and i seen this microscope (the same one i have) and he took a picture through it somehow. i can't find that thread tho

  9. ^^ that's cool. i wish i could figure out how to take a picture through the micoscope, as i have the same one. but i'd imagine that you'd need to be super steady so as not to just take a pic of a blur.
