This is my first grow so I’m very new to all this. What I’m currently using -2x2x5 tent -HLG 65 LED 4K -Fox farms line nutrients Today I started my flowering stage and during veg my light did a great job for 2 plants but in the lighting specs it says it’s only good to flower one plant. I do have a cheap 800w CASTNOO burple grow light that I was using for the first few weeks of veg it was working just fine but I decided to go with the HLG. My question is this should I go ahead a use the CASTNOO with the HLG? I would have to hang it from the side due to space limits. Or just stick with the HLG. My budget is maxed so buying another light is out of the question. Everything is going great and I don’t want to mess my first harvest up so I’ll take all the info I can
How many watts is the HLG light? Do you know the actual watts of the blurple? Most people use 28 watts per sq ft or more, so you'd need about 112 watts, but 100 should work. For future reference, HLG is an excellent company, but so are many others who sell similar stuff cheaper.
It is 65 actual watts sorry forgot to add that and no clue on what the burple is. I was using that light on these plants when they first popped and for an additional month. It couldn’t hurt to add it right?
I looked up your blurple, and it's 100 watts according to ebay. Blurples are less efficient, so I'd guess it's only a little stronger than the 65 watt light. 65 watts isn't enough for 4 sq ft after the plants reach mid-veg, so I'd use both, and be on the lookout for symptoms of too much light.
Thanks for looking that up. I wasn’t able to really find any specs on it. I was thinking the CASTNOO might be a little more beneficial with the different light spectrum since the HGL is a 4k
Blurples have grown tons and tons of good weed over the decades. Full spectrum is better, but not hugely better.
