Help With Interpreting Soiless Mix Analysis

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by obscenegrace, Jan 14, 2010.

  1. Hi everyone,

Last year, I began a compost pile for my legit garden. Then, when the season was over, I added about 50 gallons of peat-based soiless mix I used for my outdoor cannabis plants and the remainder of my vermicomposting bin to the pile.

I wanted to make use of this compost in my soilless mix for this year's grow. But since I had never made compost before, I sent a sample to my local Agricultural Service to get a better idea of what i need to add to it to best suit my needs.

Today, I got the results back but the link that was supposed to show me how to interpret what the numbers mean is down. Now I'm left with some data that is a bit too advanced for me to make sense out of so I want to know if anyone would be interested in helping me interpret these numbers like how much lime I need to level out the ph or other things I may need to do. In fact, I have no idea what electrical conductivity or total dissolved solids really mean :D

    The numbers:

    pH 6.9

    NO3-N 1

    P 7

    K 16

    Mg 2

    Ca 5

    Electrical
    Conductivity 0.21 (mmhos/cm)

    Total Dissolved Solids (ppm) 134

    THANKS!
