Help with harvest time

Discussion in 'Harvesting and Processing Marijuana' started by Alosh, Jan 13, 2023.

  1. How are you all
The bud is not fully ripe, but the trichomes are milky in color and a few are amber in color. Should I harvest now or wait?

  4. @Alosh , Your plant is not ready. Look around at pictures other buds ready to harvest. You don't even have buds , yet, just the beginning of flowers! Please listen to @Nokie112 , if you harvest now you'll be very disappointed.

  6. Yes, you got a good month left. It takes patience to grow good mature buds.

  8. Weeks 3-4 the plants have just stopped their initial stretch. Weeks 5-6 they will begin to grow the buds bigger, then they will get denser. Very few strains are ready before week 9. Typically I think most are between week 10 and 12.

  9. This is the point where I start "checking" with a loupe or scope, when the hairs have begun to turn orange and recede, and the bud itself has a nice coating of frost visible to the naked eye. Depending on strain and grow conditions by this point there could still be a decent % of trichs that are either not filled at all (some just don't) or have already turned brown, it can vary significantly from buds to sugar leaves, or even from top colas to larf buds.

This particular grow I think it was 2 weeks past this pic that I cut as up close it had plenty of trichs, but many still needed to fill.

Like others have said, wait until you have buds that are noticeably taller and fatter, don't worry, the pic above started off as baby buds just like yours

Keep your plant healthy, and you should be in a similar situation in another month or so. (turning the bottom pic buds into the top pic ones)

    Best of luck mate!

  10. 6 more weeks for a total of 10 actual in flower or more if needed. Sativa leaning strains can run up to twice that. I've had them run into January outside and still building buds. I finally got tired of looking at them and took them down.
Your main cola should bulk up to at least a fat Ball Park Frank. If the genetics are good it could reach Coke can diameter. All those while hairs will have turned orange, shriveled and receded back against the forming buds.
