  2. Erm, I would not be using transparent cups if I were you.

The light can hit roots and damage them causing your seedling to die. Either get some duct tape and tap around or put in a foam cup or something not transparent. Good luck!

  3. transparent cups definitely are not helping your situation, but your problem mainly resides in your soil.

the soil looks as if it is holding WAY too much water.

you said it looks muddy at the bottom - did you remember to put holes in the bottom of the cup? :p

i would take that plant out of that soil ASAP. get something extremely simple, just sterilized peat & perlite. ProMix (mfd. by premier) makes a good brand, as does Sunshine Mix.

dont buy anything pre-loaded with nutrients. your soil should contain no nutrients.

when you transplant, flip the cup over and take the soil out......carefully push aside the soil until you reach the roots. carefully (i have to reiterate that) knock off any excess soil that is not attached to the roots. very gently, transplant your plant into your new soil IN AN OPAQUE CUP. the transparent plastic wont necessarily harm your plant, but it will force the roots inward (they will avoid the light). when planted in cups (or any pot for that matter), plants naturally like to bind their roots to the interior of the container. you will see much better & vigorous growth in a regular Solo cup.

if you keep your plant at the current state its in and continue to do so, it will most likely stay alive. but thats it & the bare bones minimum - it would just stay alive. it wont ever look any healthier, the leaves will continue to curl, and it will be dwarfed. the changes i suggested must be made in order for a successful grow.

  4. OK, I'll do something about the cups tonight.
I did put holes in the cup.

I can't find any of the pro-mix or sunshine mix that doesn't already have nutes in it.

Unless this is what you are talking about
    PRO-MIX 2.2 cu ft Pro-Mix HP Bale

If you could Find me the right stuff from lowes or home depot and post a link, That would really help

  5. yep, what you said there will work.

it should look like this (the blue coloring around HP may be red, orange...doesnt matter)....pro mix HP is good, pro mix BX is good....as long as it says pro mix (two letters here) than you will be fine.

stay away from these. if you do buy one of these two, make sure you pick up a big bag of perlite. these two kinds work and are 100% pure sphagnum peat moss, you just have to add your own perlite. make the final mixture 60% peat and 40% perlite, if that is what you happen to buy.
