After smoking from several portable vapes, I've decided to buy my own but need help. I have had countless sessions with three different vapes that my friends have (arizer solo, pax by ploom, and the davinci) My price range is (around) $100 - $150 USD and considering that I will buy it from ebay because of how much cheaper it is than the retail price. With this being said the Pax is out of the picture but that is not a problem because it has not impressed me enough for its price tag. Some important factors that will lead to my decision are: portability stealth efficiency of amount of bud used (most important) So I've been mostly debating between the Solo and the Davinci. Out of both vapes I prefer the Solo for when it comes to vapor quality and how high it gets me. However the Davinci has way better stealthiness for public usage, way easier to cary in my pocket or bag, and can be used with oil or wax. I've also heard you can use oil on the Solo but I'm not too sure, please correct me if I'm wrong I am open to other vapes and experience you guys have had with your vapes and how it compares. I am not looking for a pen.
I happen to own the solo and the Ascent. The ascent is more stealthy, but the Solo uses less weed, not to mention that the ascent and pax are both out of your price range. Planet vape has the newest solo on sale for $160. Good luck Sent from my iPad using Grasscity Forum

Since vapor quality is one of your requirements, check out the Firewood 2.1. Click the link in my sig and it'll take you to the site. A decent convection vape with a glass vapor path and manual control. Once it gets going the Firewood 2.1 really produces some nice vapor and gets you nice and intoxicated. The vape costs between $95 - $135 depending on wood type and finish. The other one I would recommend for stealth and portability is the Magic Flight Launch Box. If you're worried about vapor quality with it, buy the Finishing Grinder accessory along with it and it will produce some really decent clouds as well as being super efficient, stealthy and portable. The Magic Flight Launch Box kit costs around $120 but you can find deals on them. The Finishing Grinder is another $39.99 on top of the initial kit, but trust me, if you buy the MFLB, get it with the Finishing Grinder. These are what I'm recommending as I own both these vapes. My priorities are also the same as yours: Stealth and Portability, but I don't care about vapor production. Efficiency is more important to me than cloud production. When I say vapor quality I mean that for example, when I hit the Solo for my first 4-5 hits, I usually drag until I can't take anymore and I really like that of the solo because I feel high after just 3 of those hits, in fact, I don't want something that gives out a lot of smoke because I would be using this sometimes in my bathroom and car to hide from parents. I've also heard some base things about the MFLB but have never used one. How would you compare it to the solo? And how important is the finishing grinder? My friend has a Santa Cruz grinder and it works beautifully at making very fine grinded bud So again by vapor quality I meant that I want a vape that can produce vapor that will get me high fast and using less bud Thanks for the reply everyone, so far I'm leaning more towards the Solo
I would rock with the Solo then since you've used it, are familiar with its capabilities and it hasn't let you down. That being said, the MFLB is pretty hard to beat when it comes to being stealthy given its size. I can't compare an MFLB to a Solo since I've never used the Solo but I know others on here have and will hopefully chime in. Also just to let you know, the vapor quality you're describing is efficiency; using less bud and getting more out of it. 1/8th lasts me 10 days between the Firewood 2.1 and the MFLB with Finishing Grinder. As far as importance of the Finishing Grinder, its not necessary but definitely get one. I have a Santa Cruz Shredder myself, and yes, it can get the bud ground up pretty good, however, you haven't seen a fine grind until you've put your bud through the Finishing Grinder. Again, all this being said, I'd go with what you've already tried.
I started with the Magic flight launch box, then decided that I wanted bigger clouds so I bought the pax. The pax did get good clouds, however the taste starts getting really weird. The taste changed from fresh herbs to extremely vaporized weed very quickly. I went back to the magic flight because of its stealth and the fact that you can easily only use part of your herbs at once. The magic flight also seems to get the best taste out of your material every time because you can easily stir it between loads.
Yea efficiency is what I meant at first. All this talk about the MFLB has me dying to try it now just to see how it compares, my friend has one so I'll be trying that soon but for now I will stick to the Solo as my number one choice. I wish I wasn't hiding it from them but I'm too afraid to confront them about.. especially since it isnt legal (yet) where i live.
Please consider that it's one thing to make a personal decision for YOURSELF in regards to the risk you are taking (using weed in a non-legal state), but it's quite a bit different to put your parents at risk without giving them the opportunity to not take that risk. Also, let's understand that it is THEIR house, not yours, and therefore, they have every right to expect that the rules that they lay down are to be respected. Do you really feel that using herb is so important to you that you're willing to put the trust that your parents have in you in jeopardy? Sorry for the derail, but I feel that this is way more of an important thing to address than "what portable should I buy?" Ok, now that I got that off my chest...............back to your regular scheduled programming.
Whatever you decide steer clear of Vapeworld. I decided yesterday to buy a Pax from them and paid extra for next day delivery. Instead shipping it same day as promised/guaranteed they sent an email asking for more information (international credit card) I was furious, they should have called and not delayed the order. Today is Friday, I wanted, expected and should have had it delivered today and paid an extra $18? To make it happen! I have since called and spoke to them (as they should have done) and told them to refund the order and not to bother. No Pax for me this weekend
I do understand and agree with everything you're saying. Weed to me is just a hobby, I go to high school and basically everyone smokes and drinks. (No I dont do it because everyone else does it, i do it because i enjoy it. I'm a pretty smart kid, and my parents know that my friends and I drink at parties and stuff and they are ok with it as long as i do it responsibly. I have multiple times thought about talking to them about weed. Like come on... if they are ok with me drinking (underaged) they should be ok with me smoking the good stuff. However they have told me to stay away from drugs. But thats because they don't really know the difference between marijuana and cocaine. When i say cocaine I mean any drug of that sort that we all know have REALLY different short and long term effects compared to marijuana. I wish I could sit down with them and explain how weed is "safer" than alcohol or other addictive drugs. But if I do that I will just get in trouble. I'll save that speech to give them when (if i ever do) get caught by them By the way.. one more year and I will be gone from their house and living on my own. thanks for the heads up and sorry to hear that! hopefully you get it soon
