Help - Week 7 Flowering

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by TWTHEREDDRAGON, Nov 13, 2011.

  1. In week 7 of flowering - Wanted to go organic so we just have water - soil - mixed with humus - no fertilizers or feeding plan

Everything seems to be going good - buds are nice - trichomes are still clear

The leaves at the top of the plant are yellowing - while in the middle many of the leaves are still dark rich green. It is so late in the flowering I'm not sure if there is anything we can or should do.

They aren't burning from heat because we are using LED's

Any suggestions? Let it ride? Or attempt to add something

  2. Let it ride for sure... couple things.

1.) Plants yellow during flowering and even more so during the last few weeks of the flowering cycle. This is because flowering fertilizers are Potassium and Phosphorus based, and very low in Nitrogen which in simple terms is used by the plant to turn 'green' ;).

Also by backing off the nutrients, the plant will use up what it has left and use what resources it has saved up in the plant to put towards to bud. Think of your leaves as fat reserves and when nutrients are being given to the plant, the fat reserves are tapped.

2.) Its too late to fix any kind of damage at this stage in the game. You have a couple weeks left before you harvest, I wouldnt worry about it as long as the buds look good. You dont have time to fix it now.

Just relax, give plain water to flush out any nutes that are left, and enjoy.

  3. Thank you

  4. Anytime, good luck!!!

  5. All in all sounds normal. MJ has a finite life span once it hits flowering. It eventually will die. Leaves turning yellow towards the end is normal nothing to really worry about. Some look terrible towards the end. Grew some Afghan Autos earlier in the year and thing looked wretched at the end.
