Help! Tiny caterpillars eating buds

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Crosshairs, Sep 4, 2018.

  1. Been finding more and more as the plant matures, today I've been examining my buds and finding way more than before, I'm killing all them I can find but the excrement/damage is ruining buds, anything I can do to get rid of them this late in flower

  2. That sucks. I found a bunch of them on some autos I recently chopped. They will eat the hell out of the trichomes. I would do a lengthy inspection to make sure you get them all. Check for them every day until you chop because they eat a lot and grow fast.

  3. Have you got a co2 bottle with regs ?

  4. This is outdoor dude. I'm finding tiny green yellow and black ones on almost every bud, I fear that before it will be ready for harvest they will ruin my buds, some of the best colas are getting eaten and pooped in

  8. Can it be used in flower? With as deep as they are and as many as im finding, I fear spraying the buds is the only resort

  9. yes u can spray bt in flower do it after the sun is down and get a fan on them after if you can

  10. Check the PM I sent you

  11. I have used it on flowers all the way up to last week
Like Pat suggested do it at sun down shake and if possible blow them dry
I use a electric lawn blower on lower carefully not to blow the plant apart.
Like I said I used it to prevent wht you have to deal with now
You may need to hand pick them all to be safe
Ask @BrassNwood he deals with them more then I do
He is a great guy and will help you out if he can offer anymore advice

  12. Like I said in PM you need to get them out of the buds or they will cause Bud Rot
That I have had from just a few that i missed yrs ago

  13. As STIGGY says BT once a week every week will get you as clean a crop as possible.
Running a bug zapper in the general area helps too.

I run this low power 15 watt job with the grills cut away so I can brush it clean every morning.

Years of growing outside and BT is your best friend at keeping the bud worms AKA caterpillars in check.
Minimum ratio gets the job done for me @ 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. Mix just enough for your applications as it seems to loose strength if stored after mixing.

  20. Please don't use BT..... It will fail testing in Cali if used on a flowering plant.........
