HELP! Stalled growth for almost a month!!

  1. Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing issues with my Wedding Cake and Blue Gelato #41 strains, which were both growing well since their birth on July 24th until they stopped developing around 3-4 weeks ago. I am a beginner, so any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Two weeks ago, I mistakenly watered the plants with highly acidic water, which led to the appearance of unusually colored leaves on the Wedding Cake the following day. I have since corrected this by adjusting the water's pH levels.

Suspecting a nitrogen deficiency, I administered earthworm casting tea three days ago, but there have been no signs of improvement. If I'm unable to rectify the issue within the next week, I'm contemplating a reset, although I’d prefer not to.

    Here are some additional details:
    • Tent Size: 100x100x200 cm
    • Light: 480w Quantum Board
    • Ventilation: 2 Fans and an Exhaust System
    • No A/C, using only dechlorinated water
    • Soil: Organic Live Soil
    • Container: 25l (not full)
I can provide more pictures if necessary, and also the exact soil composition. Any help would be greatly valued. Thank you!

  2. looks nice @guerrillapps, especially for a beginner.
Just wanted to say welcome to the forums.

  3. Nice training. The soil looks a little dry in the pics. Whats your watering process?

  4. Man I must be really high because I'm not seeing what the others have seen. LOL. Maybe it's these old eyes, but they look pretty unhealthy to me. As mentioned, the soil looks to be the culprit. I'm not sure what your "organic live soil" is and also looks pretty dry. Are you feeding them nutes and if so, what kind and how often??

I make my own soil now, but I only used Happy Frog, Ocean Forest, or 420 soil. Only ones I trust. Skimping on soil has cost me more than I care to say. LOL

Hope you get it figured out. Best of luck!!!

  5. Not knowing all the details, my wild ass guess would be more nitrogen, I used to have similar issues with the plants during stretch whereby they still consume a lot of N and I had already moved on to more P&K flower nute mixes, so I'd always get some yellowing and fade right as the buds began development.

Could be worth a look, for reference, the left side plant (both are gelatos) is one I switch to higher P&K flower nutes at the start of stretch, yellowing out. The plant on the right was fed high N veg nutes all the way through flower, gradually transitioning to higher P&K stuff once I started seeing baby bud sites.

Hope this helps you out, apologies if you've already explored adding N.

  6. i would go ahead and flip them if it were me no point in wasting more time and energy you do have issues but they may clear up at the flip if you wait several more weeks and there's no change that's 3 months wasted

  7. The one pot planter looks to have some coco mixed in it. Don't know if you used some in your mixture.

  8. Good eye coco could easily be his problem

  9. Thanks for all the kind responses everyone!
Allow me to add some more info:
    1) I'm in South America, and the last few weeks have been very hot (at this exact moment it's 36c outside!)
    2) I used the following recipe for the soil:
    Code:
    expanded clay at the bottom
the base measure is: approximately 6cm of height in the pot of humus + 6cm of coconut fiber + a generous handful of perlite and a half (1.5) + about 10% of this volume of cow manure + 1 and a half tablespoon of the nutrient mix

Prepare this well-mixed mix, use as a measure 1/2 American cup so 1 bone meal = 1/2 cup bone meal:
    2 castor oil cake
    1 bone meal
    1 bokashi powder
    1/2 dolomitic limestone
    1 chicken manure
    3) As you can see in the pics, I didn't prepare the pots correctly so I'm not using the entire volume capacity.
    4) Also, I have used way more clay than needed in the bottom (approximately 8cm height).
    5) Therefore I think I only have about 14-18 liters of soil (25 capacity)
    6) I had a fungus gnat infestation but it's controlled now. No other pests.
    7) In total I did 5 waterings with a tea (diluted) composed of humus, bokashi, bone meal, castor oil cake, cow manure, poultry manure, fresh grass, liquid bokashi, organic molasses.
    8) I made a mistake in the second tea because I used it after 4 days of preparation. It was smelling good, but by my studies it seems the tea would be fungal at that point, when we wanted bacteria instead.
    9) Some friends suggested I checked the roots of the plants, but I'm afraid to do so (never did it before) and do something wrong.

@trojangrower thanks for the welcome my friend! your buds look amazing, btw
@Jacques Strappe watering was a bit inconsistent as I was still learning how to do it, but now it's ok: I'm giving them about 1.2 liters each every 2 days (it's been very hot lately)
@caljian I used the soil recipe from a friend, so I'm not sure about nuts measures!
@Misanthropevet I did already try adding N and it doesn't seem to be the problem. Your buds look amazing!!
@sosogrow yeah I'm indeed considering flipping tomorrow, looks like the best bet!
@sosogrow @Clearsky Indeed there's coco in the soil. What's the problem with it? In the bg clone (pics below) I didn't use coco, but kept the same for the rest of the recipe, and it's growing amazingly well!

  10. Thanks for the kind words mate, also, I did not notice prior that you are using coco in your grow, apologies, I thought you were in straight soil which is my wheelhouse. Lot of experienced coco growers here though, I'll differ to their opinions and hope it works out for ya.

Tell us about how you got dechlorinated water? pills from the pet store???

  12. I said it looked like you had coco in your mixture, if you did it would suck up your magnum and calcium, but sense you said there's none in it disregard the coco comment.

  13. but I do have it in my mixture lol! coconut fiber, if that's what you're talking about. It's about 35% of my soil.

  14. 1) common kitchen filter
    2) boil it
    3) wait 24h before using on the plants
    4) air compressor pumping oxygen into the big bottle

  15. Ok it could cause you problems because coco coir sucks up calcium and magnesium and also coco can build up high EC if not flushed.
But sense you got it mixed in you might be ok but could also end up with some weird things happen that may confuse you during your growing.
But who knows if I use coco that's what I grow in and if I was going to grow in soil I would not add coco coir to it but that's just me. I think it could cause problems but hope not and hopefully it all works out for you.

  16. Good to know mate! Yeah overall the other recipe with turf+perlite seemed to work best anyway, so I won't be using coco on the next few ones! I have supplemented the plants with magnesium by advice of a friend 10 days ago, but no calcium. Perhaps I'll add it to my next tea, what do you think? For what I could read about CalMag deficiencies, though, it doesn't look like this is the case, but I could be wrong out of inexperience!

  17. Last picture with the 4 plants the one on the right looks happy, what ever mixture you used for it that's what I would stick with for now.
