Hey I need an idea.... I need a link to a dramatic monolouge I have to memorize 30 seconds of somthing for voice and diction, and I cannot think of a good one to pick for this subject. I am doing Ezikiel 25:17 For whom the bell tolls Abe lincons First inagural adress and I need a dramatic monolouge I want one either funny, or intense and epic. Thanks
I had to read this for my english 2 class in college. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Last_Duchess ^^ My Last Duchess - Robert Browning its a poem he tells about killing a girl that he killed because he couldn't marry her or something. my memory is a little fuzzy im sorry i cant provide more. now he wants another girl that "appreciates his 900 year old name" pay special attention to how the talks about Neptune taming a sea-horse. this is a reflection of how he wants to be with his women, tall, powerful and making the sea horse do his will, as well as being very small. ( neptune being the tamer, sea-horse the tamee ) if you need some further advice check this page out, to give you a better outline of a dramatic monologue as well as some more examples http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dramatic_monologue also be careful about using wiki as a cited source, many professors frown upon this!
thanks man.... I dont nee ed to cite my source...just recite 30 seconds of a monolouge Ill look into that poem, see if I like it.
do Lucky's monologue in samuel beckett's "waiting for godot". and then go read everything he's written. fucking life trip.
The Bridge Builder An old man, going a lone highway, Came, at the evening, cold and gray, To a chasm, vast, and deep, and wide, Through which was flowing a sullen tide. The old man crossed in the twilight dim; The sullen stream had no fears for him; But he turned, when safe on the other side, And built a bridge to span the tide. "Old man," said a fellow pilgrim, near, "You are wasting strength with building here; Your journey will end with the ending day; You never again must pass this way; You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide- Why build you a bridge at the eventide?" The builder lifted his old gray head: "Good friend, in the path I have come," he said, "There followeth after me today, A youth, whose feet must pass this way. This chasm, that has been naught to me, To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be. He, too, must cross in the twilight dim; Good friend, I am building the bridge for him." I think this is an awesome poem, especially now that I know what it is like to have some responsibility in my life. Go for that. You could also do that fake bible scripture from Pulp Fiction.
don't get all uppity on us man, were just trying to help you out. and it isn't even a real bible verse so maybe we assumed Ezekiel 25:17 was an actual piece.
