I cleaned my GLASS bong yesterday. I used the salt and rubbing alcohol method and it it completely spotless. The problem that I am having is that it still smells like salt and when i suck air through it I can taste the salt. I have tried everything, I ran hot water out of the faucet through it for about a half an hour. I have rinsed it thoroughly and have even tried rinsing it with mouthwash. I also tried soaking it in vinegar for about an hour. Nothing has worked. Do I need to soak it longer? Is there anything else I can use?
Really makes no sense. I use iso and salt everyday in my piece and never have a salt taste. If i clean with some lime away that one tends to try n linger but its not that bad to get out.
What flurgen said, if there is any left it would have dissolved in the water and you would have removed it all. I wouldn't worry about it
I know that it doesn't make any sense but this bong still wreaks. It is a really cheap bong so I am wondering if the glass is really porous or something. I think I might just sell it for $20 and buy a new one.
rinse it with extremely hot water. any salt left in there will disolve. If it still smells and tastys salty... its sketchy as fuck.
Melt some chocolate and stick that in there. Then you can 'suck on your chocolate salty bong' '(salty bong!)'. Because something doesn't add up, water should get rid of salt with ease. Is there some kind of adulterated sodium going around?
It is was kosher salt which i believe is the same thing as table salt. This is the same thing I used:
