Help - rain won’t go away!

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Ampman, Sep 10, 2020.

  1. New grower here (didn’t know if I should post it under new grows but since it’s an outdoor question) I was hoping I could get some expert advice here. I’ve researched this a bit and seems like there is differing opinions. The grow was going great and then it started raining here in the Midwest and hasn’t stopped all week. It’s not supposed to let up until Sunday. That’s almost one full week of constant wet! The buds are waterlogged. I’ve been going out and attempting to dry them with a blow dryer - not directly but indirect heat so as not to burn or dehydrate them - but only to come back the next day to have them soaked again. When I squeeze the buds a bit, water actually seeps out of them. Am I wasting my time drying them out that way? Is it too risky and might burn them or dry out too much? Should I put a canopy over them (I’ve read many places that said covering them is a waste since the moisture is about 100% humidity anyway)? Is the crop ruined? They have another few weeks to go, so is there hope to wait it out? All the hard work seems like it’s being destroyed. Hoping you all can help.

  2. If you can keep the buds from getting soaked by covering them then do it, it'll help them dry out faster. You may try a little diluted peroxide (50:50 peroxide/water) to kill mold before it gets noticeable but only if the buds are already soaked, I wouldn't put it on dry buds. It may or may not make any difference.
