Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by tbz420, Aug 31, 2014.

  1. I have 2 plants that are about 3 months old and I started budding them about a week and a half ago. Recently the bottom leaves have been turning yellow and falling off I thought that it might just need nutrients but idt it worked. Ive been growing for about 6 years now and the same thing happened to me last year. Can someone plz help me? I know this is an embarrassment to growing bud but plz don't criticize me. I appreciate all the help I can get. Thx

  2. I'd go with overwatered too. Hard to tell from the pic, but your soil may not have good drainage too.

I water them about every other day and I split a gallon between them. Is that too much water for them? And my soil is a mixture or top soil, cow manure that u buy in a store, potting soil that has a lil sand in it, miracle grow potting soil just a lil of that and just a lil mushroom compost. As for the drainage when I water them more than normal it drains out the bottom good but when I just split a gallon nothing comes out idt. Oh ya I also fed them almost 2 weeks ago with 24-8-16 before they were flowering

  4. I had a male in with them about a month ago and I seen it starting to grow flowers so I moved it outside away from everything. When I transplanted it into the ground it def looked like it need to b transplanted cuz the roots were in the bottom all bunched up. So idk if my other plants just need transplanted or what, but I don't really want to cuz I can't really put them in anything bigger. Is there anything I can do so I don't have to transplant them?

  5. Ya dude your plant probably needs a bigger pot. What siZe pot is it in right now? Also what kinda of soil I had the same problem with some of mine. I was using soil that didn't have a lot of perlite in it and had barky material in it which prevented it from drying out. Watering it every other day is to much. I do every 4-5 days or when you stick your finger up to your first knuckle and it's dry. Also are you using right ph level for your water

  6. It's a decent sized pot I measured it at about 18inches at the top 10 inches at the bottom and it's about 15 inches deep. I'm pretty sure that there is perlite in it but I'll have to read the bags I put my finger in it today n it felt a lil tiny bit damp but it's not wet

  7. the pot you are using is plenty big. I use a 12 inch misco self watering pot. About 12 inches at top and 8 inches at bottom. Probably 3 gallons. Once you use one you will discover that sticking your finger two inches in the top soil and feeling if it is dry or wet is a very poor guide for determining if the plant needs water. My top two inches are almost always dry. I agree with charperrr. Too much bark, not enough perlite can really mess you up. Watering them "every day" or every other day, is meaningless. Plants can drink a lot when they are in a vigorous veg mode, and practically nothing when they are flowering. If you are not using self watering pots, best gauge is weight. Lift them every day and feel how dry they are. When it comes to watering, I wouldn't pay too much attention to what the top two inches feel like.

  8. Oh ya is there anything I can do for them hitting the roof they both grew too much n are hitting the roof kinda bending over is there something I can do to stop them from growing up

  9. yes, it's kind of vulgar, and quite a shock to the plant, but I do it with my tomatoes outside if they get too tall and start outgrowing their cages. You just whack off the tops. Next time start pruning much earlier, in a much more civilized manner.

  10. It's the height.. the plant is exhausting all its energy to feed the top.... Yikes is it bending in top of room

  11. +1 for overwatered. Looks exactly like a plant I mistakenly put in a pot with no holes in it.

.....or under drained....depends how you want to look at it.

  12. Why on earth would you want to "whack off the tops"? This is where most of the flowers come from, and certainly the best flowers.

OP, just tie it down with some soft string/yarn. You can drill a hole in the sides of your pot or just tie the string to a brick/weight. Please don't cut the tops off your plants.

  13. well, first of all, if you've let it grow too tall, you probably don't have much room, and probably not enough light coverage or room to start growing horizontally. You can whack them down to about half size. It's just like starting all over again with a big clone.

  14. Sure - if he wants to wait 2 months for this plant that you want to cut in half to start vegging all over again and then another several weeks for it to get to the point that it is now.

But either way. I simply disagree. He could pull it way down with string and be done in 8-10 weeks or he could cut it in half and be done in 16-18 weeks.

  16. Please don't cut off the tops-use string to pull down --but honestly mate it's drainage or overwatering

  17. if the plant was about ready to flower and you whack it, it will start flowering almost immediately.
