  1. hey guys, my plant just seems not to be growing, i don't know whats goin on. i am growing under a spot-gro plant bulb and i have the bulb in a aluminum lamp shade style lamp (hangs directly over the plant) about 4 inches from the plant itself. and i water it when needed and it just seems not to grow. PLEASE HELP!

  2. im not sure what type of bulb that is but that seems ;like the likely problem but lots more details are needed about your setup ?????

  3. sorry bout the poor description of the lighting, its a 50 watt spot-gro plant bulb, its only 50 watt but it specializes in growing plants from seeds, so this light should be good enough to get my plant big enough for the outdoor world. but still my plant seems to be struggling.

  4. "Grow bulbs" that look like incandescent floodlights or spotlights are crap for growing MJ. Check the lighting guide in my sig for which lights will work and which won't...

  5. Hi Mike - I had similar problems at first.

    I discovered THREE things:

    1) You really do need a good light, mine was too weak and too far away. I pulled the bulb down to literally three or four centermeters away from the plants. I was convinced they would burn but I added a small fan and they've been fine.

    2) I used the wrong soil. I used some stuff with ferts in it and this actually slowed down the growth and then led to brown spotts on the leaves. I changed to a loam-based compost and they are real healthy little buggers right now. And..

    3) I also started giving some seaweed feed too early as well. I should have LISTENED to all the posts that explain quite clearly; do not feed for the first four weeks.

So, I don't know if that helps. First off, I'd go and buy a good bulb. I bought a 125watt GrowKing with a shade for £45 from Green's Horticulture (Bristol, UK), now I'm just about to upgraded to a 225watt from them (my grow space is very small, less that 1m square.)

    Hope this helps.
