  1. ive got 10 seeds in pots 2 broke ground overnight so ive put the fluros on the only thing is the other 8 shall i keep them in the dark untill they pop up or are they ok to be left in the light with the other 2

  2. from what iv learnt on here you should leave unsprouted plants in the dark for 2 days and then go under lights. if this is wrong someone please tell me as this is what i plan to do!

  3. nah it dosnt matter about leaving them in dark aslong as u germanated them theyl grow fine mine r doing v well just after one month

  4. It won't hurt them at all to be under flouros. The soil should keep them dark anyway, and there'll be light for them immediately they break ground.

You can leave them in the dark for a week if you want, all it does is allow the seed to fully germinate or sprout. It'll grow into a pair of cotyledones on a stem, and stop there until it gets some light (not indefinitely, obviously, but I've kept them for about a week).

The alternative (having light there ready for the emerging cotyledones to start using immediately) makes more sense if you want to get on with things.

  5. thanx for the info guys. today i have six out of ten and their looking good ive put them in miracle grow peat pots cos ive heared its easier to transplant them when they sprout and after reading a few tuts it says that once they break ground they should be done asap so todays the day the only thing is what size?? i dont want the pot to be to small and stunt growth and i dont want to transplant again after this so what would be the ideal size? also should i water them once i have done this cos the soil in the new pot is going to be dry and if so how much i dont want to drown them thanx.

  6. Water the soil and let it drain for 15 minutes before you plant.

Time to read some stickies my friend.

  7. thanx mate thats exactly what i did when i planted the seeds nice and easy. any idea about pot size???
