hi everyone, ive been wondering whats going on with the plants they are 3 and a half weeks into flowering and every leaf is going yellow, at first i thought i wasnt giving enough feed, but it keeps getting worse, now all the top leafs are curling under like claws. what is wrong with them? i am using bio bizz all mix soil, bio bizz grow/bloom/top max. i have been using a ph tester which it reads no more than 6.3 everytime, i thought that it was faulty so i got ph buffer 7 to test it and it was only out by 0.2. i was reading up that i might have nutrient lockout, so i tested the run off and it reads 7.5, do you think this is the problem? if so what do i do to sort this? sorry the pics aint the best! thanks
A couple of plants I had done that, they were fine but it's still odd. At the time it was just the top leafs showing these symptoms, maybe its something to do with humidity, I had a very open grow when I got this.
the humidity is sitting at 43% at the moment. they just dont seem to be growing at all. its like they have stunted because of this.
Will I flush them with a lower ph to solve the problem of a high ph run off of 7.5? Does everyone else agree that I should flush them?
you should also get bigger pots for them like 5 gal buckets they are sativas so they will grow bigger than indicas which means the roots will need more space to stretch
Yes I would use the lower PH to water. Sometimes the soil and built up minerals can change the PH. If run off is high then I would say water with a lower PH and see if she starts looking happier. If im correct you are about half way through flowering......as a plant gets closer to harvest some leaves will start to yellow, fall off and die. Its normal for some to die so if it is happening and getting much worse then there may be some other things.
Do you think they can be root bound also? Can I just start water with lower ph and see how I get on or should I flush them out?
Your humidity is good, as for your pots you go with 1 gallon for every foot of plant, so if 3 foot plant then a 3 gallon pot. For flushing you go with 3 times the amount of water for every gallon your pot is so if using a 3 gallon pot flush with 9 gallons of water and you only need to PH the last gallon or so. Getting the PH of soil to lower does take a number of waterings it doesnt usualy happen right away.
Eagle clawing tends to be caused by over ferting and tacoing tends to be caused by a deficiency. Some genetics grow clawed leaves so could be that but dont know what youre growing. Flush them good with some plain PH'd water.
If flushing them doesnt work then you should plant them in bigger pots because they may be root bound. Mine looked similar when they were root bound so I switched them to 5 gal buckets
I had a root bound plant in my first harvest and nothing bigger to put it in so I just trimed about 2 to 3 inches off the outside of the soil ball and added fresh soil and she seemed to like that but I dont know about doing that during flowering because the stress of root trimming.
So yesterday I flushed them all, took ages lol, do you really think they can be root bound? They have been in there buckets for about 2months. Also the plants are super lemon haze, I always thought these were tall plants. Has anyone else had experience with the super lemon haze?
yeh i will do that thanks, they are in 11 litre pots, i dont think they can be root bound in them surely.
