Help Plant Shriveled Up Overnight

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by wonderwoman, Jun 9, 2009.

  1. Hey All

I am having a major emergency. My 12 week plant shriveled up overnight and looks awful. The only thing I can think of is that I gave it MiracleGro All Purpose Plant Food the day before. Is this what is killing the plant? Although it seemed stunted before shrivelling as it had not developed much for a few weeks. It is under a 400 wat HPS and was started as a clone so I'm not sure the exact age of the plant. The attached pictures show the problem as best as possible. Thank you in advance for your help!

  2. Hmmm. How much freakin miracle grow did you give it? LOL MG is POWERFUL stuff and should be used in extreme moderation.

Has the plant been flowering for 12 weeks?

I dont think its from the MG. (of course I could be wrong if you gave it an abnormal size dose)

At first I thought the middle pic needed water. But you say you just watered them. Are you overwatering? Allowing the pot to become at least 90%-95% dry before watering again? Does it have proper drainage?

Sorry I cant help more, but at least this will get your post bumped up.

    Good Luck.

    ps. take more pics.

  3. Hey thanks for the response.

I gave it a normal dose of MiracleGro and have fed it regularly throughout its life so I don't think it is the MiracleGro either.

It has been flowering for about nine weeks and I don't see the bud formation that I should see so I think that there is any underlying problem that just blew up.

Do you think it would be best to just cut the plant down and seeing what I can save from it? It is not improving at all.

I don't know the pH of my soil so maybe fertilizer built up and its too acidic? Not sure anything will help.

    Thanks again
