Help noob w/ Timed Lighting pleaase

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by newbiedoobie, Sep 28, 2007.

  1. Using a 400 mh and It's creataing alot of heat, up to 91 degress. I am currently using a timer set for on 1 1/2 hr and of 30 minutes off as to keep the air cool and no higher than 86-89 degrees. Question is, hhaving my light timer set in this format, will it cause my plants to grow 'odd'? LW#2 autoflowers and I was tihnking tgat if I was to use a 12/12 it would burn them, so with the light and dark I wanted to balance out the light. Any Help?

  2. my hydro tubing in my hydroponics is strting to produce a light brown sludge. I threw out last years grow because of this problem, not knowing wht it was. Does any body know what cures this? There is no light on the tubes or in the resivour...

  3. You can't do that. The plant will be stressed causing all males or if you're lucky hermies. Plus you'll probably have a lot of problems.

Here is what you can do though, add a fluorescent light and only have the mh turn off for the cycle you want.
    That will be ok.

  4. Agree that is a terrible lighting schedule. But mobitsfa, he wouldn't be lucky to get hermies. Everyone seems to think that any ol' hermie will automatically produce 100% feminized pollen for easy production of feminized seeds. If that were the case there would be tutorials all over here about how to grow hermies.

Hermies are bad, you don't want to encourage them. If select budsites of a healthy female plant are induced a certain way to hermie then that can produce feminized pollen, but it's not so easy.

O.k. so I hve a lw#2 that is female and I really want to sex her with the mle. I've already pollenated her by laying male pollen sacks of fancy on her top nodes and rubbed them together like brbie dolls whatever.
I have a heating/ sleeping problem. Do I need a lot of florous or will one 1600 lumen work. I got about nine little babies under there , not only #2.? I pln to cross them later so I wnt the #2 s to sex. But about the lighting, what, do they need to be on a continued cycle to grow properly?

thanks for the replies, you have
