Hey all! First off I'm new to GrassCity so if I'm breaking any rules or reposting, please lemme know! Thanks! Onto my problems that I would love some input on. So I've been blowing wax for a few weeks now, having blown three or four small batches now. I would like to get better at the process before I invest more heavily Into it, so to answer the questions/comments about why no vac yet, that's why. So for whatever reason, I have not been getting nearly as much end product as I should and it has been coming out harsh recently. The color is fine, it seems to get better the more I do it, it's just the harshness and the weight. I start my process with an oz of trim. I dry it in the oven at 180 for 2 hours on a cookie tray then load it into then load it into my extraction tubes (it's sitting next to a can of Newport butane). I blast one full can of Newport through each oz into a Pyrex dish that is sitting in a water bath already. After it has completely dripped out I take the tube away but leave the Pyrex in the water for two hours, keeping the water hot. After this I put it in the oven at 170 for a few hours or until it stops bubbling then let it sit on a hot pad for another few hours. Tastes how the trim smells (which is good), it's like a thick honey consistency, and doesn't smell poorly, but when smoked it seems to be very harsh or burn ones throat a little. Any thoughts? Oh and the yield from by last batch (2 oz of good trim) was about a gram. I've heard it's usually an eighter or around there per oz, so why is mine so low?? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
