HELP!!! Need some tips for growing outdoor in Vietnam

  1. i could really use some tips on the best way to grow outdoor marijuana in Vietnam.
I am very new to growing.and can only get my hands on commercial materials . (soil, manure, plant food and nutrients) could anyone tell me how i can grow the best possible pot with minimum resources?

  2. Read the outdoor guide in the stickies everything you need is there

  3. You're in luck, Vietnam has an excellent climate for growing weed. You could grow just fine with bagseed as long as you pay attention to your plant, but IIRC Vietnam gets a lot of rain, so you might not even have to water it yourself. Google "swamp tubes growing", the plants will explode with quick growth because the roots grow down into the moist swampy soil and water themselves.

  4. yeah but i live in saigon.... not really near any awamps...
i have 3 outdoor potted plants going now but 2/3 of them arent doing so hot. im very limited on proper materials and the 14/10 sunlight isnt helping anything either. im trying to figure out the best way to grow outdoor with minimum resources. i can only get my hands on commerical soil, nutes. im also running low on good seeds so i might have to start using bag seed
    .

  5. I'd suggest getting Purple Maroc or Purple Power from femaleseeds.nl. They're an excellent hardy beginner's strain, they're so hardy that they need very little care, they don't get fungal or mold issues. I'd start them in peatpots outside until they're large enough to transplant into the ground. Get an organic potting soil, dig 3x3 holes, then amend the holes with the soil and other nutes. Each plant will be transplanted into an amended 3x3 hole. These strains are very hardy, oftentimes growers will plant them somewhere, then come back at harvest time and the plants are still alive and thriving. Where are you thinking of planting, like an area with a lot of trees, an open field? All these plants need is some nice soil and water, an all purpose extended release fertilizer will work very nicely.

  6. Pot plants do not like wet swampy soil. Not sure about swamp tubes. But in general they do not like wet swampy soil.

  7. Don't you get a bullet in the back of your head for growing pot in Vietnam>?

  8. Im pretty sure you get a bullet in the head just for being in vietnam. I dont think they discriminate front or back either.

  9. How's it coming, you started your grow yet? I'd suggest any of these strains, the UK growers who live in a bad climate for growing love these strains because they're so hardy, I guess they have a lot of issues with mold.

Kinda excited to see how plants will do in Vietnam lol, some killer landrace sativas came out of Vietnam back in the day, that c99 will grow like a monster for you. Stretchy sativas will get so big in your part of the world they look like trees.

Come on guys... its not the 60's-70's anymore. People very rarely get shot here. America has more shootings in 1 day than Vietnam has in a year. Vietnam is developing more and more each day and im happy to be apart of it.

I'm not in the country side where there's alot of foresty areas. I'm sure if i lived in central Vietnam in the highlands it would be a bit easier. The climate is better and there's more foresty areas. Growing in Saigon is a bit tough. Its a big city and the only place i can grow is on my rooftop. During the raining season it fucking pours down like crazy. Not only that, but the sun is out 14-15 hours a day. We don't have great garden stores either. All i can get is commercial soil plant food. Nutes are a bit tough to get as well.

I have my first grow going now. 1 out of 3 is looking ok. its not as tall as i would like but im happy with it considering its my first grow. its bushy, stinky with a lot of crystals. not sure how much i will yield but hopefully its enough to keep me going until i start my next grow. the other 2 on the other hand arent looking so hot. They aren't very tall and i've lost A LOT of leaves due to lack of nitrogen. I picked off %50 of the leaves because they turned yellow. Now they're looking very bare. I'd be lucky to get 5 grams off of each plant. i'm open to any suggestions on how to make the best of them.
    I'll post some pics soon.

  11. No, but im sitll pretty sure if they catch you growing pot they'll lash you with a whip or put a bullet through your skull

  12. yeah well i'm pretty sure you're an idiot... where are you getting your facts?? have you even ever left your little country town? tell me one time in history where either of those things have ever happened. its always the people with no clue about anything that say the stupidest shit. you should leave your small country town and come to a big city like saigon to learn a thing or 2.

to everyone else, thanks for your help! this is why i joined this site. i would love to hear anyone's advice or opinions on the best way to grow under the conditions i stated. If for some reason you feel the need to say something off topic, at least have your facts straight. better yet, take your idiotic comments to facebook.

  13. Hey hey so I'm sure its a lot hotter in Vietnam than here In the UK we get average summer temps of 22c (sorry don't know f) but the rain sounds similar! If you can get your hands on a strain called swiss cheese you should give it a go. Others have reccomended purple maroc but its very photo sensitive so might not be too good if your days go short early. Swiss cheese is hardy, mold and disease resistant and finishes here at 51 lat north mid october. It also give a good harvest and loves to be trained topped and LST'd which would be good for a roof top grow so its not so obviously weed!
So you say you can get commercial nutes, this could work to your advantage if you could get the N P K seperatly then mix to your own recipes.
Or to be honest if you could get tomato feed that would do you for the veg period.

On a different note my sister went traveling in Vietnam a couple of years back, she's said its an amazing country, where the locals are so welcoming and real happy people in general.
    Also the food is awsome!
Peace out bro hope it goes well for you

  14. Thanks man! I'll give it a go. My friend in Cambodia just told me he had some swiss cheese seeds.I'm going over there next month and will be able to grab some then. our average temp is 28 but can be much higher some days( today its 33). Yes, I'm looking to make my own mix but i need help figuring out the best recipe.

Im new to growing and at the time of my first grow, didn't know much. I def made a few mistakes with the soil recipe.1 of my plants is looking good but the other 2, not so much. I'm hoping to get everything down so my next grow will be more successful.

Your sister is right! I love living here. I've been here for over 4 years now. The people and food are amazing. Although things are getting more expensive everyday, its still relatively cheap. There are some downsides though... one is that its tough to get good smoke. I'm having to travel to Cambodia and bring stuff back with me. Its super risky so i don't really like doing it. So I've been saving all the seeds and starting to grow myself.

You should follow yours sisters footsteps and make a trip over here!! Vietnam is close to Cambodia, Thailand, China, Lao and Singapore. ( all great places for holiday) You can fly to any one of those countries in less than 3 hours from here. Its super cheap too. Flights are under $300 for all destinations. If you had a month, you could knock out and enjoy all of those places.

How about locating a real thai strain? Should do very well in your climate.

What would happen if you got busted growing? How are the MJ laws there? What quality of pot do you see for sale?

  16. if its just a small grow, you could can just pay off the police. unless its a huge amount or youre trying to smuggle it, again, you can just buy your way out of it. they don't really care about foreigners here. mj is the least of their worries, herion is the big problem here.

last year a bunch of Nigerians got busted trying to smuggle a bunch of herion. most of them got prison time (15years- life depending on their role) and the leader received the death penalty. the guy had a trans - nation operation going. he was smuggling it to and from india, malaysia, thailand, cambodia, china and vietnam. not sure if it happened yet but he was supposed to get lethal injection.

as far as quality, the local stuff is horrible. no buds, mostly just leaves, sticks and stones. they don't put any effort into growing here. they just throw seeds in a field, let it go and come back later to harvest. viets don't use it for the most part. farmers use it to feed their pigs to chill them out. aside from the local stuff, you can get stuff that comes from either thailand or cambodia. usually they import the lower quality stuff into VN. i would compare it to mexican dirt weed i used to get when i was a teenager in the states. its goes for about $5 for 4 grams or if you buy bulk, you can get 100 grams of thai brick weed for less than $100.he local stuff is half the price. the stuff thats avail in thailand or cambodia on the other hand is pretty decent. you can get decent strains but most of it is poorly grown and more than likely compressed. last time i bought in cambodia, i scored 100 grams of good skunk weed for $100.

so if you want something good, you have to grow it yourself. i know some foreigners that grow some decent stuff here but they live in more grow friendly places. i live in the city so its a bit more difficult for me. the sun is out14 hours a day. and when it is dark, i have to deal with all the city lights. so really, my plants never get complete darkness. im going to build grow boxes for my next grow.

  17. i was wrong... my buddy has blue cheese, not swiss...

  18. Ok so I started with 2 teaspoons of 40% water soluble phosphate and 2 teaspoons of 38% water soluble potassium. I would expect about the same amount of nitrate per 10l of water

Man id love to but Im married now, got too many commitments and I don't think the missus would like the backpacker style holiday.

Keep me posted on your grow bro! And try posting your weed back from Cambodia much safer than flying with it
    Peace

  19. i had one friend stationed off of vietnam in early seventies, claimed to visit rope factory garbage heap at night and scavenged discarded buds. probably just b.s. but worth investigating. try small scale composting including chicken or rabbit manures. shouldn't be too hard to find.

  20. If you have a rooftop and lots of light thats a great place to grow. You should however construct a DIY Greenhouse for cheap to protect your plant from the heavy rain and also to black it out to force sooner flowertimes from the equatorial bagseed your probably growing will have a long flowering time. You would have to be disciplined and place the black out cover and remove it at the same time everyday. Not to hard to work into the routine if you ask me. You will want some fans to keep the air circulating as well and temps down.

    Just a thought....

    Voo
