  1. Whatup GC, I been doing alot of reading on the forums and elsewhere and ive decided im going to start growing for the 1st time...Kind of a long read but here we go...
I have a shed that im going to grow in, and the dimensions for the area im going to use is about 3' x 10' more space is available but this should be enough room. Im currently thinking of a way to make the area into a vegging and flowering section, but i havent quite figured that out yet. Ive got fans i can use for intake/exhaust. As for the lighting, I will be ordering either 1 of these 400w MH/HPS sets,
    High Tech Garden Supply

Econo 400 Watt HPS w/ GE High-Output Lamp - Inside Sun
has any1 purchased either or know anything about these products? I will be germinating a couple of seeds soon and when they pop open I will put them into plastic cups with Miracle grow organic potting mix, with some perlite and relying on mother nature for lighting for about 2 weeks till my lights arrive, will that be okay? As for the soil for the actual grow i will be using 3 gallon pots, with a mix of peat moss, wormcastings, and perlite. I thought about getting some nutes for late vegging/flowering stage, but I read if i use organic nutes, such as blood/bone/kelp meal in the soil, the other nutes wont be neccessary, is this true or am I bettr off purchasing some Big Bloom, etc, im a complete noob when it comes 2 this soil/nutes, so any information is appreciated, and im open to any thoughts or ideas that would make this grow better.

dont use miracle potting soil. perferably: roots organic/FFOF/happy frog. or a compost form of your own.
These soils don't needs nutes for the first month of veg.
i totally recommend bloom nutrients for flowering, if you plan to veg for a short period you don't need veg nutes however, if you plan to veg for more than 1 1/2 months i totally recommend it, really does help produce higher yields.

id also recommend flowering in 5 gallons.

  3. ok thanks, ill probably pick up some FFOF, some bloom nutes and 5 gallon pots. Im thinking about starting with about 4 plants, and practicing LST on them.

  4. look up LBH's lst guide, i've done it before, it works great.

i would scrog for more stretchier plants, and lst for short bushier plants. or u could even do both. good luck

  5. Yea, I plan on following LBH's guide, how long did u veg for when u tried LST, and what kind of yields did u get?
