Help! Mould on main stem killing plants! Root Riot

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by BigHarry1, Oct 14, 2018.

  1. Hi

I have 2 plants that have been in root riots that have developed a mould 3 weeks jnto flower.

This has happened before, thought it was a one off, thought nothing of it and ripped
It out of the Autopot. Now its happened again to 2 of them? Ahhhh

Ive removed the mould to find its eaten away at the main stems, hoping that now removed an has some air to it, they can repair themselves.

The last one just got worse and died so there fore i removed. These 2 have wilted badly and look in a bad way so i need to find a solution to stop it happening again and hopefully revive these 2.

There are other plants in the same conditions which are suffering no ill effects and perfectly healthy.

Some are in Jiffy plugs and others in the Root riots.

Usually use the Root Riot but lately I’ve found they seem the restrict the main stem at the bottom and so they may be causing this issue although not all of them are effected?

Not sure what to do? All the strains are the same and had plenty of experience never had this issue with root riots before.

    Please help!!

  2. I think you need either hydrogaurd or roots gold from house and garden.

  3. I hit my plants with peroxide now all the time. Some of that mold stays in the plant tissue during vegetative... ie. it stays inside the plant all the time. fusarium>?
1mL of 30% H2O2/gal @tm is safe for my bubbler and my seedling in rockwool. I may increase as I am seeing some algae on the top of the bubbler (but not where its constantly moist... so it may not be getting hit).

  4. Thans for inputs.. im in the UK. And i struggle with mixing.
    How much per 10ml?

Also, the roots seem fine. Its just the bottom of the stem as pictured
