HELP ME PLEASE, 5 week flower but found this???????

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by themasta09, Sep 18, 2009.

  1. The pictures show ''Miss GC' (named in honour of the help from this site from members)
I was just checking her (My 'grow log' is in ABSOLUTE BEGGINERS and details the plant from day 1)

I found this little BUG (looks like a shiny EGG WITH LEGS?) and saw some things on the plant that id not seen before (circled)
Just wondered what the bug is (Ive just soaked in neem oil) and if theres anything to worry about on her.

    Thanks guys

  2. hey dude got ur pm's good to speak on a different thread lol, well not so good as its sick plant section, man im really not sure on that, when i was looking at the pics of it on the plant it kinda looked like a female part of the plant, but ive looked best i can & duno what it is il try & see what i can find out, but till u know what it is check every inch of the plant, especially under the leaves etc for more & tiny eggs, they will be hard to see & could be missed so check very well

  3. Cheers i reckon its 'aphids' so tomorrow if i see anymore crawling i will just spray again but much heavier, either way that will give me another week of 'clear growing' then if after thast it needs it again so be it, its defo better than not doing it and losing some of her.

I might actually drag the top 2 inch of soil out and replace tomorrow if i see any, then literally coat in pure neem oil, if i cant get rid of em then i'll just stem the flow at least..
Hurry up october 8th (ealriest point for harvest - ideal point is 15th)

  4. Get some ladybugs, or make a garlic spray if the neem doesn't work. Have you had aphids before?

  5. Hi well possibly had them before (my main thread details when etc)
but always used a bit of neem oil, it seems to stem them and well i cant see any major damage signs anywhere?
    ?
Tempted to get this just in case what ya think?

    Description

\t\t \t\t\tBugclear ultra for flowering plants is a new insecticide that is effective against a range of common and tough pests including whitefly, greenfly, blackfly and other aphids, scale insects and mealy bugs. Systemic action.

    Cheers mate

  6. You have a GREAT fucking camera.
    What is it?

  7. I would make sure that stuff is food safe before using it. Don't want you become sterile or anything... lol

I've heard that sulfur pots are the way to go... was thinking about picking one up when I inevitably get some sort of pest again.

  8. I'd say lady bugs are your best bet. I've never encountered this problem personally, and I'm no expert green thumb, but I do know lady bugs can establish a healthy diet when feeding on aphids.

EDIT: I first learned this through that pixar disney movie 'a bug's life'. Then I got more informed in high school. Just a little back up info.

  9. ^ those work. if you dont like em try lady bugs next best thing

  10. can u get these in the uk then? (the op is in uk) ive been looking with no luck, i found info in few places on google saying they have been discontinued in the UK due to health risk's but i think thats bollocks although nowhere in uk sells em that i know

  11. Cheers guys.
1-PEST OFF STRIPS arent available in the uk. unfortuantely.
2-MY CAMERA is "SONY DSC-W30 CYBERSHOT 6MEGAPIXEL" (It was only like 40 quid - (60 dollars) (Thanks 'liz lemon')
3-I cant find any ladybugs around where i live (in middle of nowhere in uk)
4-I can only get stuff from 'diy.com' or focus.com or wilkos.
5-I would use a garlic spray if someone would give me a recipe.

ThaNks I'll update 4pm uk time when her lights are on.

  12. Well ive neem oil + garlic sprayed her twice all over, flushed her, fed her, flushed her again, sprayed again.
I can see 1 or 2 still in there, and found a fresh webbing near tops, but i know the spray wouldnt kill them instantly.
I think i'll check in the morning and if i see anything then im gonna 'bug bomb' her.

Look at the pics of her and let me know if i should be worried (3-4 weeks til harvest) do you reckon i'll be ok??????
