Ok well for a my diet plan/lifestyle change i was thinking about cutting out mostly red meats and eat chicken, turkey, fish, with veggies and fruits, cut out fast food and fried food, and breads. I also was thinking about just jogging around the block a couple times a day. But ive been debating that because i work 10/12 hours a day doin alot of labor i work very hard at my job. Idk im just asking for some advice on diet. Most of us know its hard to stick to this kind of stuff. Im a big guy at 6'0ft. 275 pounds but im not all fat im just a all around big dude even if i lost weight id still be built like a ox. Thanks GC
Well if you work a heavy labor type of job, changing up your diet and doing some cardio should definitely help. I stick with chicken breast, a little pasta, and some veggies as my usual meal. I take out like a day where I'll make a decent amount and just stick it in the fridge and eat as I need it. Eating smaller meals spread throughout the day is also good. Or grabbing a cliff bar is a good alternative if you can't take too much time out to eat.
If you're limiting bread, which I think is a good call, limit other starchy foods like potatoes, pasta, corn, etc.. too. Lifting weights actually helps. Cardio for sure.
What sort of heavy labour do you do? If it's lifting, there's your workout right there. I work at Costco, in the back doing merch. If I'm in the water and juice aisles, I make my entire shift a workout. I speed up the tempo, try lifting the objects in different ways, etc. I'm beat by the end. You'll see great results just by altering your diet. Kick the grains, eat tons of veggies and fruits, etc. Monounsaturated fats are your friend. The key is whole foods. Cut out all or most of the processed junk, especially things like high-fructose corn syrup, and stuff with preservatives. It's sad that so many items in the grocery store contain these things. Very off-putting, but you'll find ways around it. Delicious, nutritious ways might I add. People may think you're neurotic for checking all the labels all the time, but in the end you'll be laughing and full of energy... and you'll look damn good to boot.
If you attend a gym, make sure to do your cardio prior to lifting weights. Cardio tears at muscle, and you will see best results doing it this way. I would recommend to run outside, and not use a treadmill (it makes a world of difference). I hear circuits are a good way to go, but I'm not too into them. My cousin has her own dietician business, and my brother is a person trainer...I can give you either of their emails if you want a very good opinion. Plus they can break down your questions a lot easier than myself. Good luck!
I'd recommend joining a gym that's 24 hrs if possible. If you can wake up early enough, hit an hour of cardio (this wakes me up 100% no coffee needed) and went to work you should see significant results with a diet plan. Honestly calories are calories no matter where they come from. But for muscle building you need the right foods in your system to help produce them. I currently am in the beginning of starting a diet as I've gained 40 lbs in 4 or so years and just began noticing a huge difference in my health. I'm tired all the time and I know it's due to being out of shape , shitty foods and tons of booze. But I'm beginning a diet currently and joined a gym last week. Hopping on a treadmill was pretty embarassing when I was out of breath after 10 mins. Good luck.
try to eat 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day this will spike your metabolism and shed fat especially if you are doing physical labor remember to drink tons of water and look up the Paleo diet you are on the tight track food wise also try to cut out starch gluten and dairy you will get cut up in no time with the right dedication!
looks like you're correcting your diet which is great. also avoid alcohol terrible for metabolism I just started the Insanity workout, and I love it.
