I can't seem to find my original post but I've been having trouble with my plants turning lighter green. I have been checking the Ph levels each time making sure everything is right with the nutes but they are still a lighter green. I put them into flower 10 days ago as they sprouted on 9-13-2023. I've had many successful grows in the last few years and can't figure this one out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Using Fox Farm nutes in 5 gallon fabric pots. My watering schedule has been: 2L with nutes one day and 2L plain water the next and repeat.
they look hungry for nitrogen maybe your ph is off and they cant uptake? you need to figure it out asap this is a crucial point in the grow i hope you get it figured out maybe try feeding just 1 of them extra nitrogen and see if it greens up? i am not a pro but i have a little experience and know enough to say you need to act fast because you flipped already
I mean, do I just scrap these two plants and start over? I don't want to continue with these if they don't have a chance.
you never said what your using . Fox farms what ? And you should run the veg nutrient until you see the plant start flowering then switch. Calmag wont hurt First what fox farm bloom booster are you using ? If its a bloom booster they really lock the plant out . You need to add calmag along with it . But idk yet ill wait and give more advice .
Imo it looks like you are in stretch mate, and it looks like you got a sizeable plant in either a 5 or 7 gallon pot, my wild ass guess would be you need to add some more grow big or just nitrogen in general as plants still crave it during stretch, usually I don't cut back the nitrogen until I see the baby bud sites. It's not the end of the world, but once the plant finishes stretch it will be an uphill battle to keep them green as they naturally mature and fade, so I always pump them with a lot of N through stretch to just offset this (so like I'm winding down Nitrogen instead of trying to play catch up in flower when P and K are generally more needed) Here is one of my plants about the same size as yours, but running about 1-2 weeks ahead (I flipped the lights about 2 weeks ago). Plant is in a 7-gal fabric pot filled with basically ocean forest and happy frog plus some remnants from other soil bags, here is how I fed it for the last 2 weeks. 1 gallon of water every other day (just water) Every other watering (so every 4 days or like twice a week) when I grab the gallon jug of water, I mix in the following fi your using fox farms. List is per gallon, and per plant 10ml of tiger bloom 5-7ml of grow big 2-4ml of cal-mag (mine is 1-0-0 so its also has nitrogen, which is why I don't do a full 10ml of grow big) 60-80ml of big bloom. If you need more details or want to see the whole process feel free to steal anything from my journal on this plant, , and don't get me wrong, you still have a very nice looking plant imo, just perhaps a little hungry. There is a lot of stuff in the journal's first pages for dead beginners, like how to pick lights etc but there is also a link table in the first post and this below link will skip right to where I started stretch. Indoor dirt growing for the lazy person / 4 strains Hope this was helpful, and best of luck on the grow mate!
Here's a picture of what I used. 2 teaspoons of the Grow Big and 4 Tablespoons of the Big Bloom per gallon of water which I split between the two plants every other day and a gallon plain water split between the two on the opposite days. I was adding a teaspoon of calmag per gallon for a while as well.
I'd throw in another 5ml or like 1/3 to 1/2 a tablespoon of grow big to what you are already feeding and give it a few days (I'd also start feeding tiger bloom in the near future as buds grow, and once they are formed you can typically stop using the grow big and just do big bloom and tiger bloom (maybe some cal-mag). Its more than what I typically feed at this stage but that may be because you have a 5 gallon pot to my 7 gallon ones (can't really tell from the pics) . If you notice the tips of the leaves turn yellow or brown, and start to "claw" downward that's when you know to back off the nitrogen, and best of luck mate!
Two quick questions: What are your thoughts on using rain water on indoor grow tent plants? And when do you start counting days in flower? I've always been told once you can visibly see it start flowering, not when you flip to 12/12. Which is the right way?
as soon as you click 12/12 start counting . But keep in mind that number breeders give you usually is very wrong . I have seen one breeder that is correct out of everyone i have bought
I start counting my days in flower from when I switch the lights, but I consider the first week or 2 of flower to be the "stretch phase", because you will still often need veg nutes and flower nutes during this period, all things being equal, the plant has different nutrient needs in veg, flower, and stretch. So when folks flip the lights on like monday, and tuesday they totally switch from veg to flower nutes, the plant will be hungry imo. So how I do it (and there are probably better ways) Veg = veg nutes Flower = flower nutes first two weeks or so of flower or "stretch" = I'm usually feeding both, eventually stopping the veg nutes once the bud sites appear (like marble sized little white pistil balls) I've used water from rain barrels before with no issue on cannabis plants (provided you PH the water first to make sure its not too high or low). It is possible though that even rain water can pick up some minerals or other stuff along the way, so usually every time the barrels are full I'll PH it, then test it out on like the cukes or a tomato plant. If they do well then I'll use it for cannabis (I could also send it out for testing to tbh the rainwater here at least is pretty neutral without a lot of suspended solids or other junk, but your rain conditions may vary).
Here is what im talking about . This is the only breeder i have seen where the time is accurate . Some of the fastest flowering there is . I strongly suggest POWER KUSH smell is like nothing you have seen something from the 60s The high will keep a party up 24 hours buying and smoking it . I attended a party that was going for over 24 hours everybody was smoking it they did not know i grew it only one person did if you get my point . People were raving about it. I felt really good about that grow . Feminized cannabis seeds and Autoflowering cannabis seeds
Well, the girls are finally looking happier. I attached a before and after pic below. Thank you guys, for all your help.
