Disclaimer: The bong actually isn't mine yet. It will become mine if / when I can fix it. The Bong: 28", Perc (broken), and ice notches. It's made by Blue Dot. The perc was broken when my friends were trying to clean it. Here's the problem, half of the perc is broken and it can't really fit through the icenotches to be pulled out the top of the bong. is it fixable? I'd at least like to remove the broken part from the perculator, but the ideal solution would be to make it functional again. The bong is perfectly smokable without the perc but I want it to be whole again I'll post some pictures later. Some help from you glassheads would be appreciated
Pictures would REALLY help. I'm still not entirely sure what the issue is. If you got a broken piece of percolator in there, your best bet is to leave it. I don't know how you could reliably break it up without risking destroying the rest of the bong. Sorry to hear of the loss.
I've fixed bong broken in 2 with fiberglass resin and a lot of time. How the hell did he break the perc? We really need to see some pics to give you a better idea.
Fiberglass resin? Ohh where do you buy that stuff? I've always just used a 24-hour epoxy resin. It works great, but fiberglass resin sounds way better.
He was cleaning it, the perc is kind of thin. To everyone who's a little confused picture this. There's one piece of glass that is below the icenotches and above the base inside the ex-perc. It's not small enough to come out either end. There are people who can build ships inside bottles, so this should be fixable by the right person correct? Is it worth my time to contact someone who can blow glass?
Quite honestly no , It's a bluedot so it was under around 200 correct? To fix that they would have to cut the tube and put in a new perc, then put it back together. Which would cost probably 120+ depends on the blower (if you can even find one). Would be better to just buy another bluedot.
That a pricey fix and for a blue dot it would probably cost as much as the tube just to have it repaired. I would just replace it. As Dhouse said they would have to cut the tube in half and that's not practical for a tube that cost less then $200
so im going to go ahead an bumb this now three year old thread and say i have the same problem, but i dont want to fix it, i just want to get the perc out of there... any one??
