For the past 2 - 3 years i've been on a huge kick with basically everything on the obscure trippy indie spectrum. midnight juggernauts, grizzly bear, neon indian, animal collective, black moth super rainbow, portugal the man... etc... These bands sound phenomenal on this expensive set of headphones I purchased. I developed a ritual of smoking, putting on the headphones, playing new albums I found (in lossless), and just melted away. I didn't even watch tv. I just listened to music and read a book or something.. quality is such an important factor for me; not only in production/how the song was made, but even the format. songs with super high fidelity just sound so much better on the headphones. Even if the song has a 192 bit rate (or less.. eek) the crispness of the highs is completely ruined for me... thus.. no melting my face Lately (for reasons you will soon find out in the next paragraph) i've been searching for something heavier, something that is as creative and well produced as my old trippy indie shit - only with screaming, heavy guitars, and whatnot. I have a lot of friends into bands like "a day to remember" and "four year strong" but i just cant get into that shit. It's not really my thing... Maybe that will narrow it down a bit. What sparked the interest... a couple weeks ago, Me and this girl got high, I ask her the same question about music.. (where can i fand some good heavy music) she put on this song on my surround sound and started violently ripping off my clothes. ha... yeah... i'll leave it at that. the song was fucking incredible.... although I'd like to find better music. here is the song she played. Im really into metal, my fav bands are veil of maya, upon a burning body, carnifex, for today (i like breakdowns haha) and none of them have singing cept for for today in a couple songs but theyre really melodic. Winds of plague is melodic too and are pretty brutal Whitechapels new album is pretty good baked too -Only if you like brutal music tho, otherwise you would prolly hate all the music i just listed- or you may be into bands like norma jean?
