hi i just moved to a much much dryer climate than what i am used to and now i have a problem. my plants are curling up from the sides. at first i thought it was overwater but there is no clawing effct and i water every three days. so i called a tech line and they said that it could be from the really low RH in the room which i thought was fine until i realized the room flucuates from between 14% and 28% which is really realy low. im on my way to get a humidifier right now but wanted another opinion on the problem. thanks
yeah humidifier and spray em if their still in veg. make sure u keep a temp and humidity guage in tha room so u can keep it in chek. i got a good one from lowes like $10
RC is spot on w/advice. rh shouldn't get below 40 or above 60%. It's not wrote in stone and veg can take more humidity. Buds tend to mold from within when humidity is high. What are your temps between lights on and off. Heat and humidity should be regulated.
they are still in veg so the lights are on 24/7. i have a a/c unit in the room and temps stay between 76F and 82F. well i put a humidifier in the veg room today so ill see if the leaves flatten out.
You could also go to 20/4schedule. I've read and witnessed this schedule work very well. tons of info to read out there on this. This would give humidity a chance to rise naturally. plus your ac will thank you. IMHO&E the ladies need dark.
i used to use a humidy to boost it but after i put in a an outside line ( outdoor airflow ) the content from outside was enuff to balence it out to like 50-60% also the outside air will do wonders for ur plants specialy during dark when u gotta shut out all light sources and close it up also while i used the humidy i found my leafs were yellowing slightly in patches maybe cuz of the mist landing on them and the water not being to great even after i let it ph balence
Everyone is not afforded the luxury of outside vents. And they're not a must. Air flow is a must, but a floor fan in front of a closet(blowing out) or a poo fan in john is great. deniro...your spots are mold, fungus, or mildewing spots from water on leaves period. 1st rule of thump is to never leave a plant wet going into dark. The reason we all say to water w/off is people kept hitting bulb. You're suppose to turn it back on to at least dry off plant.
my outside vent is 1 tube of 4'' 100mm Ali flexible ducting hydroponics ventilation duct very cheap to setup no extra fan needed just tape it to a window aim into g/r and let god do the rest lol only used the mister for like 3 days nvr let the mist sit during dark i dont rlly rate them nvr had mold or anything like that thank god sounds bad also i would advise against spray direct onto the plant if ur soil is in good condition so will ur leafs be here's a link for a good cheap outside vent http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/100mm-Ali-fle...0QQihZ008QQcategoryZ43555QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem hope this helps
well i do have vents from outside. but here in the desert there is no humidity to begin with the humdity today reached a whopping 8%.
Cooler of ice. or stew pot. Ice free and while melting will add humidity. you in desert? w/8%rh outside, you definently don't want any outside air comin in to grow. You'll never raise it. gl ...alex
Where did you read Dry ice? I typed cooler of ice. Who has a cooler of dry ice sitting around? Freeze some water. Let it melt in room. It will release moisture into the air. i.e. RH goes up. Being in the sand means you must take care of humidity. gl...alex
