Is there such thing as a highly produced metal band with "INDIE"-ish production? Thats the best way I can explain what i'm looking for. Maybe you cool kids can help me out. first off, i'm weird about music quality/clarity/and production value. haha i'm really sorry. (I have this weird sound/style i like, and I cant really go outside of it) I totally dig when a band uses an interesting recording technique, like recording with broken equipment, tracks obscurely panned around your ears... A singer with a unique vocal niche, throwback 50's 60's techniques... Sadly the only bands i can really find like this are the random indie rock bands i come across. I'm getting bored of my music, I'd like to go heavier. I've heard 2 bands who are close... My ex showed me this band "Death from above 1979" which TOTALLY won my heart... and that is RARE because i'm not the biggest heavy music fan at all. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haSnf9K9iWs]YouTube - Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine - 02 - Romantic Rights[/ame] also I love this british band "the horror's" but they are more...psychedelic punk... kinda. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuyxMaJw0oA]YouTube - The Horrors - I Can't Control Myself[/ame] Back in like 2005 I loved some He Is Legend "I am hollywood"... Fall of Troy SORT OF had it, but I want completely impressed Underoath's newer albums ALSO sort of had it, but It just didn't keep my attention. Do any of you blades know what MIGHT blow my mind?? Something that would appeal to the artsy indie artist fan crowd?? Indie-metal-psychedelic-awesome?? hahaha dont's - New found glory - progressive metal dragonforce bands - Metallica - avenged sevenfold or anything related to it - saosin - number 12 - bree bree pig squeels thanks alot!!! i apologize. Im extremely picky with my music.
The first band that popped into my mind when I read your thread title was Ghost. They're kind of heavy, but more rock psychedelic rock sounding. I'll give you two songs to listen to, hopefully you'll like them. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfEIfdI7J0k&feature=related]YouTube - GHOST - Ritual..[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJy-hdKT5wM&feature=related]YouTube - Ghost "Death Knell" (OFFICIAL)[/ame] Also, you might like Witchcraft. They're a bit different, but give them a chance. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HmC292wDjY]YouTube - Witchcraft - I Want You To Know[/ame] Tell me what you think of the bands.
ghost - I love their album art. The first thing that came to mind was the super super early first demos by queens of the stone age... but with a medieval twist. I like their harmonies... but thats about it. The overall catchiness of their guitar riffs, drums, and vocals doesn't really stick with me. Witchcraft - ehhhhhh, sounds like the local band that plays at my sports bar on tuesdays. Not my thing at all. I'm looking something that would probably blow up in the underground music scene if given like 3 or 4 months. sorry dude, thanks for sharing though. Like I said, Im not really a true metal fan. I know some guys who would love this so much, ill pass it along. thanks again!
Maybe the band Giant Squid is what you're looking for? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PovmYjR-eA]YouTube - Giant Squid - Versus The Siren[/ame]

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ge49T5wOLA[/ame] ...but its not really... metal.. haha. I dont know. Keep the bands coming GC!
