Help, if weed is moldy?

Guys I just got this from the usual guy that i get my weed from after 2 weeks of him telling me there is nothing around. Now something disturbs me ( although he allways has something else ) are those white spots here and there on the bud. To closer look they dont look "netty" like mold does on fruits. and they look like trichomes (little hairs with caps) but many many many of those. Ive opened the bud and there was no nets in between leafs and no nets in between weed stick and leafs like on most pictures i see about mold. Also weed has not changed color at at leaf bases on sticks. The sticks them selfs are fully covered by lots of those hairs with caps (stick feels soft) There are LOTS of brown hairs and they are totaly separate from the white hairs (dunno if matters) . I dont know how mold smells but this bud smells like fresh cut grass/flowers.Its doesnt smell sweet (rotten) it doesn't smell strong. In fact it smells way less then dry buds. The guy selling told me that it is just wet and i should let it dry for couple of days. I never had wet weed before. Sorry for bad camera guys =(

  2. Man It looks moldy to me

  3. Oh and btw, i smoked a pinky nail of that mixed with tobacco . i dont feel any headace, but i feel pretty high. Also dunno if matters. I didnt noticed any burning sensation in throat. Just feels dry and i had to relight often.
Also note that the camera is cellhpone camera in it basically just smear all the hairs you usually see

  4. That for sure looks like mold or mildew.

    In which case you can:
    A. Smoke it anyway and just accept the potential health consequences
    B. Try and remove as much of the mold as possible then smoke anyway
    C. Throw it out and re-buy.

  5. Ye but... I told you... It doesnt really look that "netty" like mold does. It looks like a lots of little white hairs with caps. It smells fresh cut grass (no other smells and the smell it self is really weak) also i have cats and know how ammonia smells and its deffinetly not it. But im not an expert in mold.
    What are the health consequences?

  6. The health issues are anything from slightly burning throat afterwards to lung infections or even worse.
If that's not moldy bud I don't know what is. Those aren't trichomes my friend it's mold and you should destroy the bud. Consuming it is not worth the serious health consequences, I mean that's not just a trace its really loaded with it. I had some real fire that was moldy a while back and it was no where's near what you have and I too had to destroy it all. It killed me to do it, but I was just lucky I never consumed any of it.

  7. Im gonna have to take more high quality picture so that you can see the hundreds of caps. But yeah i just let it to dry for now, i wanna see if it grows more mold (if it is mold) or get to look better.
It is just too expencive for me to just throw it out. Those 2 grams cost me like 50$

  8. White hairs = natural.
    White fuzz = mold.

When you combust the cannabis, the mold spores will die/be eliminated.

If you're really worried, cooking edibles with it usually fixes the problem.

  10. Can't be 100% sure without seeing it firsthand, just from my experience mold or mildew seems to be what it appears to be. Mold doesn't necessarily have to have that astringent smell, there is tons of different strains (just like cannabis). Another idea though, is it possible those are spider nests, or just some sort of insect nesting...another possibility (unlikely). Since you said it's sort of wet, the suspects are still mold or mildew. Mildew is also a good suspect to look into. In terms of health issues, I only meant the possibility of an irritated throat, extra coughing..nothing really detrimental just inconvenient.

  11. Mildew normally has a color to it rather than white, no?

  13. I asked the guy to check what strain this is and when it was harvested, waiting for an answer.
jme02100 thats the point... It doesnt look like mold at all, i see hundreds of white caps, there is nothing above/higher/taller then the caps, i suspect that if this would be mold it would be also atop of the caps them selfs.
I got an normal camera at home, il try making a detailed close up with better lighting in the morning.

  14. I smoked another joint with like 20%weed 80%tobacco and i have to admit it hits you like a truck... I still think those are trichomes cus it feels like im riding unicorns. Can molded weed hit you up like that?

  15. Yes. Because if it's A1 weed with mold, it's still high quality weed (potency wise, not in our eyes, obviously, because of the mold.)

But yes the high is practically equal I would presume.

  16. I would always find transparent/whitish string-like hairs in my mids. But not webbs just single ones. I never understood what it was

  17. Those were probably remnants of webs. Spider mites make their home inside the bud. When it's cured and squished usually, it'll all still be in there. It's almost like fine thread.
