Help! If I use a copper pipe for the stock of a bong, could it make me sick?

Discussion in 'Cannabis Consumption Q&A & Tips' started by landrayeblossum, Sep 5, 2012.

  1. Today, I broke my bong in a way that I could replace the stock pretty easily with a piece of pipe. If I use copper, could that be harmful to me? If so, what are my other options? I know I could use PVC but I thought copper would look a little classier :D What other metals could I use?

  2. Not positive but I think PVC could be quite harmful

  3. if its the stock not much heat hits it. you can really use anything thats not toxic. i.e stay away from lead.

  4. Copper can cause a bacterial infection called tetanus. This is especially likely if heating up and smoking through copper. There is a vaccination for tetanus, which you have probably had if you live in the united states. But I strongly suggest you not use a copper pipe.

  5. Dont use copper or pvc, bad shit.

  6. Most likely.. as most copper.. it's super cheap and inexpensive and NOT designed or intended for heat, so it would give off metal fumes and deteriorate. And metal fumes can seriously fuck up your lungs and even make your throat close off.
