Grass City Community, I need some help identifying what the issues with my outdoor plants are. I have a few successful indoor grows under my belt and I have been fascinated with growing as a hobby for years, so I am not a complete noob, but I’d still consider myself a novice. Especially when it comes to outdoor grows, as this is my first. I planted a few different stains of auto flowers about 3 weeks ago, just seed to dirt, no germination. Things went fine relatively but recently my plants have started to have some discoloration and deformed leaves and I can’t find the answers to why in my own research. It seems like the new leaves coming out are bunched up and some of the new leaves are really strange looking and don’t look as healthy as I’d like. Just as a back story, I got too ambitious and gave the plants 2 feeding with fox farm nutrients (diluted to what I believe to be appropriate, about 1/2 of what you’d normally do for a non auto flower, and appropriate for the stage in the plants life) back to back when they were about 2 weeks old and I think I got some slight nutrients burn on a few of the leaves. Since then I have just been feeding with regular water. I do live in the south where it is very humid and hot in the summer. So I have really been trying to monitor the soil moisture with a probe and letting it dry out some what before I water, but maybe not enough? Any advice or pointers is greatly appreciated and I will try and attach photos to this post.
it’s a mix of left overs. I made a mix that I found to be pretty solid when I grew indoors (I believe it was made of coconut husk, earthworm castings, perlite, and a little touch of lime for PH balancing) but I didn’t have enough left to fill all the pots I wanted. So I mixed that with some organic potting mix from the nursery, and threw in some left over perlite and earthworm castings I had lying around. Sorry, I wish I had a more precise answer. Next grow I’ll probably make my own pure soil mixture from scratch again
Hmmm so basically soil only has EWC for nutrient source - I’m guessing your gonna have to feed em as though you are growing in hydro less the N2
