This is my first time, have done some extensive reading, but I'm not sure, if what i have is a drought, or Boron deficiency, or some other kind of nutrient deficiency. My plant is 3 weeks old, and i also suspect very slow growth. Big time noob, so any advice will be appreciated..I have 4 23w 5500k cfls about an 1 inch away, water them every other day about 4fl oz. I keep a fan to keep air circulating. Using a mix of organic and Mg soil.
Sorry man. Looks like too much food. When their super stressing like that, back off the light. Sometimes more light isnt good. Definitely if you have too much food in your soil. Looks like a PH issue too. Like I said, try backing off the light when real stressed. Not too much but; like if your CFL is 1 inch away, move it to 3-4. Work it slowly back down as you see improvement. (Or raise and lower the pot)
Yeah at first they were way to close but I thought it would be ok since i was using 3 23w cfl per plant. A little over a week I put the cfl about 3 inches away. I also started doing 18/6 instead of 24/0. I'm using spring water with ph of 7.0 and haven't fed them any nutrients yet. I think I messed up by using Organic miracle grow and mixed it with some other organic soil with perlite in it. So in the next week or so when my seedling gets bigger and in able to. I'm gonna buy proper soil. Probably ocean floor. The organic mg may have been too much!! I think the seedling looks ok though, don't you think? Just the other older one is having realllllly slow growth and really bad coloring.😕. Hopefully the seedling will do better. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I can't really just go to a store to look at different kinds of soil so I cant tell you if thats the problem or not. Temperature? Humidity? Overwatering? Underwatering!? Air circulation?!? I can only guess. Edit: You have holes in the bottom of that bucket? I started three seeds in a coffee can, and I watered that can ONCE in a 7 day period. Which was transplant day into larger pots. And probley another week before those received water. Slowly they needed more. When there tiny they use drops of water a day. Think of the mass of the plant is close to the amount of water it will use. Right?
Nah I have a small fan in my grow space. Temperature is at around 72 to 75. A little cooler at night. Humidity idk don't have all the proper tools. Since It's my first grow. I water it using the light pot method. So not too often. And fox farm ocean floor is the soil I'm buying a little later on next week. It's good. I've read my eyes out in guides and all that so I feel pretty prepared with knowledge for my next grow. But for now I gotta do with what I've got. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I agree with the person who said overwatering and overfert. You shouldn't water that often...and we all know what MG soil can do to young plants. What organic soil are you mixing with the MG crap?
dude I had the same exact problem from organic miracle gro.it may be organic, but it still has time release nutrients in it. so fucking annoying. my 6 out of 7 seedlings shriveled up and dried to dust!
Yeah I definitely think it's the soil. I used some random organic potting soil. Just cuz I didn't have money at the time but like I said wanted to begin experimenting. Will have better soil soon and all will be good. Lesson learned its definitely miracle NO. Hopefully my other two seedling won't shrivel up and die as well. The trooper is now gone btw. Just 2 little seedlings going now. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
And as to watering yea, I l don't water very often, I use the light pot method. And also check the soil for dryness. Also the pot has good drainage. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
