ok so ive been veggin for about 2 months now. i was wondering what would be the prime height to start my plant in flowering if i want it to end up around 3and1/2 feet-4feet at the end of flowering?
i got the seeds from a very dank bag i dont know the exact strain however it started off looking pure indica but the bigger it gets its starting to look like more of a hybrid
Ok, it's like this. Pure indicas will double in size when put to flowering. Pure sativas will triple in size when put to flowering. Other strains will stay between 2x to 3x the size. But keep one thing in mind: If you veg the plant for 1,5 month, and flower for 3 months, it will grow more. If you're shooting for a 3,5' to 4' plant, I'd say you change to flowering when at 1,5'. That should do it. If it grows a lot more, do some training. You'll do fine.
sweet thats what i figured. i have a little sprout i just got to come up im gonna let it grow without pinching at all and once it gets to a foot i think im gonna pull the trigger on my worst 3-4 plants and let them flower and let the big ones go about a month into the first sets flowering. and one other question. would you recommend pinching the tops of the buds once they come in to stimulate denser growth? edit--soil grow btw 3.5-5gal for all of them
ive heard/experienced that up to flowering its play by ear, but during flowering you can expect your plant to double or triple in height (unless you LST)
I have a thread on pinching. People don't do that much, but it worked quite well for me. It slowed down the vertical growth and bud growth increase a lot. No signs of stress whatsoever. Make a google search on "how to pinch pinus bonsai" and you'll learn how it's properly done.
