I am a successful grower of hempy bucket system but I recently changed to DWC since I grew tired of the flushing process. Plants in my DWC are not doing very well. They start yellowing and show sign of nute problems. I have followed my standard procedure but everything is still the same. Initially, the PH is too high at 7.0 when the plants show sign of nute problem. So, I adjust the PH to be in the safe range 5.5-6.5 They are growing vegetatively 18/6 under 350w LED Growlight at the moment. 1. PH is in range 5.5-6.5, normally around 6.0. 2. PH meters are carefully calibrated. I got two PH meters just to make sure and nothing wrong with them. 3. EC is around 2.0. This mean PPM is only 1,000? (Hanna) 4. I changed the entire water, added nute and adjust the PH last Saturday. Everything is in range. 5. Once I correct and fix everything I clipped some leaves which shown sign of problem off so that I can easily see if the problem is actually continue. 6. I checked this morning and the leaves was experiencing the same problem. Any suggestion guys? I really have no idea what to do now. 1. Could it be my EC is too high? 2. Could it be PH problem? 3. Could it be LED 350w too strong? I don't think so, it is almost 80cm away from the canopy.
Maybe they need light I don't use led but 80cm seems a lot Sent from my GT-I8190N using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Jesus man I have never had a plant wanting an EC of 2! The highest mine has ever wanted is 1.3 and that was during the stretch and the plant was 4 feet wide. Drop yours to 0.7 and watch where is goes to the following day
And read the opening post on this thread http://forum.grasscity.com/hydroponic-growing/1198022-how-determine-what-your-plants-preferred-nutrient-strength.html you definitely need to manage your nutrient solution concentration better
Thank you man, I was lowering the nute down to 0.6 EC. Still the problem doesn't seem to go away. So, I guess it maybe because I have moved them from Hempy bucket to DWC system.
I don't know, if you damaged the roots in the move then possibly. It will take time for them to heal themselves after that high concentration of minerals in their water. How many litres per minute of air are you pushing through the NS? I recommend 1 litre of air for every 2 litres of NS
