Help! Drying Odor! Help!

  1. Hey GC,
Need to know a few things. My grows been successful so far, got around 2 weeks left of the grow before it's chop chop. I'm drying in my parent's attic and hoping the smell wont be bad enough to creep downstairs, through the insulation. It's a 2.5 foot tall plant, thinking I'll have anywhere from 21-42 dried grams...really hard for me to tell cause it's my first grow but that's just to give you an idea. I've heard people say it depends on the strain, it's general odor, and potency, which I believe could be very likely to be true. Many people hope to not get that "grassy" smell, but it'd actually be very convenient for me while drying for stealth purposes. Now, should I be able to tell generally how much it will stink by giving her a whiff 1-2 days before harvest (while she's still alive and well), or do you really only know once you chop it down and wait a few hours? I've heard it can be a pretty mild to extreme smell, but I'm not sure when you can make the call on that general odor. If I get caught, I'm fucked. I'd rather ditch the weed than take a chance with over-stinky bud and getting in the trouble sadly, even though that may seem hard to comprehend for those of you who grow and dry in your own homes. If I give it a watering with vanilla extract the day before harvest, will it mask the distinct bud stink, or will it only add a vanilla-like smell ontop of it? Really just looking for any info regarding drying and odor/odor control.
    Thanks for reading!

And help is much MUCH appreciated. Don't have too much time to make a few final decisions regarding this!!

  2. if you can get a fan up there put dryer sheets behind it so it sends the fresh smell down, but other than that it's going to reek bettr off getting a rubbermaid container and putting lines up in that with hole in it

  3. What are you using for odour control during flowering? if you're using a carbon filter you can just dry in your grow box (with lights off obviously).

  4. My friend as we speak I'm drying, I always use ONA Block. 3 years so far n I have not the need to buy Carbon Fliter, but hey, That's me !

    )Hope it helps

  5. im going to try the ONA because i have seen lots of good reviews about them. but if you rig an Ozium can to an auto spray thing likr lysol has you would be golden Ozium is epic.

  6. So I got a ONA blocker from amazon and it is super strong. I put it in my Bon closet that usually smells and within one hr there was nothing but clean house smell and my stuff was left smelling like it should. No bad taste that a spray would do. So worth it.
