Help Determining Sex

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by 1stTimeGtower1973, Aug 5, 2023.

  1. Hello I am a first time grower. I have 7 plants from seed growing. I have a few of the plants exhibiting preflowers. I have looked for 2 days for information but honestly I'm a little confused. So anything without a white hair is a male? And do the white hairs show at first sign of maturity? Here are a few images for the plants in q IMG_20230805_085911.jpg IMG_20230805_085642.jpg IMG_20230805_085736.jpg uestion any input would be highly appreciated. Also the lights just went out. I can turn them on to get better pictures.

  2. First timers are always way too anxious. Just wait.

  3. Too early or what?

  4. My question is because I need to make room sooner than later. Granted I do have some floor space still available.

  5. I'm NOT A 1'ST TIMER, & still have difficulty with this when your eyesight sucks. How about some info? app when to start looking for pollen sacs? A smart phone pic & then blown up let's me see what's goin on, especialy in the back row.

  6. It varies from strain to strain and due to environment. That's why I said wait. It will be very obvious once they show sex. Hundreds of pictures on the Internet on what to look for.

  7. Yes I have looked on the internet as stated for 2 days nothing looks like these too me. And like nachobommer stated. I also have bad eyes at the age of 50. I'm a fresh 50, my eyes have always been in their mid 70's lol.

  8. Throw me a bone, before or after the flip?

  9. 7-12 days after flip.

  10. THANK YOU!

  11. I can't wait to flip I need to know sooner than later I guess I will just take a cut from each and place them straight to 12/12

  12. Takes 10 days or so for cuttings to root, you can't flip until they are established. So using that method you're looking at at least 20 days until you know the sex.

  13. By the time a cutting roots, gets transplanted & is ready to flip, the original plant may be showing it's sex HOPEFULLY.

  14. Geeez!

  15. So the plant needs to have roots for it to shift to flowering?

  19. No, so photosynthesis stops in a clone until it puts out roots?

  20. What role does.roots play I'm a cutting determining if it should start flowering? Is it because root development is prioritized at that pointt? I'm just asking sorry
