Hey all, I'm ordering a custom EFS tube, payment's about to be on the way for it, and I need some help. I'm getting a 14" tall double gridded donut, and I am getting some work on the base of the tube as well as a matching DD or 3-hole slide. However, I can't decide on a colorway/style for the work I want done. I considered the following ideas: - Slyme-style work on base and spend another 50 to get the donut worked as well - Some sort of honeycombing - Typical reversal (not wig wag just the spirals) with a darker color scheme However I can't decide on what I want at all. Initially I was leaning towards the slyme working, but unless I were to drop a bunch of extra money to let him go all out on the tube I see no point, slyme is no fun unless it's suuupeerrr worked. Then I considered honeycombing either like Vermonster's SG natty tube or with mixed colors like the second picture: http://imageshack.us/a/img821/1172/dsc00331ilf.jpg http://www.glasspipes.org/Images/FullSize/000296000/Img296049_233.JPG Now I REALLY like Verm's style of honeycombing with the outside border, but I don't wanna just copy that idea. I was thinking of maybe combining the two styles with an outside border and a more complex colorway in the middle. However, EFS really excels with reversals, so I'm also inclined to just let him stick to what he's best at and going with that. What would you guys do style-wise? What color scheme would you go with on the style you choose? Please include a color scheme in your post, that's the main thing I'm deciding on. Would prefer to stick to a darker color scheme but am not opposed to including some yellow, orange or lighter blues/greens as well. Or should I just let him go at it and see what he comes up with?
I tend to choose the artist on what they are good for and let them do it. Since you went with EFS you obviously like his work. I'd let him do the work he likes. I only have one custom but I just told the blower the colors I wanted and the style and for him to do the art part lol. Came out fucking boss. I'd only do that with great blowers obviously but EFS is in that category for sure.
That's what I was thinking about doing, just telling him to do some wig wags or the spiral-type reversals in a darker color scheme and seeing what he comes up with, I'm sure I'd love it either way, but my only hesitancy in doing this is if it ends up coming out in a way I don't like.
I have a spiral worked EFS and he does it great, but for my custom I'm going to see if he'll do a bunch of work in either double amber purp or green amber purp.
