I have a serious question regarding being caught with growing/cultivation for personal use. This involves my 21 year old son. (Yep, I am 53 and seeking help here for my son). Last week his home was searched and they found, they say, 13 plants, (more like 7 in reality) in all different stages of growth. Grow lights, plant food, and a hydro watering system. This is in the state of Missouri. He fled on foot and we have not heard from him since. My questions are, does anyone know the penelty for this? (in our state) And, how do the police/courts or who ever determine the amount of Marijuana when its plants? How do they convert it too grams or KG in order to charge a person with a felony? I have been reading about the different amounts they use to determine fines and jail time. So how can they tell how much when its still plants? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.
they might pop him for manufacturing... actually thats most likely what they will do... Check out NORML's website for more info.
sorry to hear about this, i just got charged with poss less than an oz. and prefanalia . here is Missouri's site http://norml.org/index.cfm?wtm_view=&Group_ID=4547 this includes possession and everything, looks like he will be going to jail for about 5 years at least tho, sorry. They might even charge him with prefanalia which is a 1 year sentence on top of that. He will accumulate some pretty hefty fines too. Again sorry to hear about your problem. And i do not know how they figure out the amount to charge, i think what they do is have a ratio that they go by which is like 1/3 of the total weight is gone after harvesting and drying, etc... for example.
Wee-One answered with the same info I intended to answer with. So I'd just like to say that I'm sorry to hear about your son. I hope everything turns out alright.
Thanks for your responses. This sure is nerve wrecking, not knowing what will happen for sure. CKY, this is in Barry County MO. The Sheriffs department doesn't have anything better to do with their time. Or maybe they are in need of restocking their supply.
