Help..all my leaves look like this one

  1. Sup GC!?

Ok, my plants took off in growth after a lime adjusted water because of low PH.

Now, all my leaves have brown tips, and the end tip is curled down. Now if my test strips are reading properly my runoff PH is incredibly acidic. Do those with experience know if paper PH strips are affected by the color of the runoff??

BTW, no nutes, about 2 weeks old, maybe a little older, only water, under 192 Watts of floro 24/0, temps range from 69-84, humidity 40-55...umm what else!? I water only 1 to 2 times a week, last watering I added garden lime to raise the PH of the water I was pouring in and they seamed to LOVE it! Grew an inch taller and wider overnight.

Now my order will be in today. Foxfarm Ocean forect, digital PH meter, and PH up down liquid. I think this may help my situation, but I really want to know what caused this browning, curling of the tios, so I can avoid this situation in the future.

Thanks for any help you can give me! I have tons of pic's if you need to see more.

  2. Could be your soil was pre-ferted? That or you over did the lime cause it looks like begining of nute burn, IMO. Butt regardless if it doesn't get any worse its no big deal.

  3. Problem is the new growth looks the same, browning on ends, tip pointing down. This happened before the lime. I was attempting to raise PH with lime in attempt to stop the browning. The soil I have is not fertalized, but I believe it is wicked acidic. Would very acidic soil make the leaves look this way because of lockout?? Luckly the new gear will be in...NICE the GF just called, she just got my new supplies, WOOOHOOO!!!

So I will assume the bad soil PH is causing this. New soil, new PH adjuster up/down and PH meter...I think that will fix me up!!?!?! If not, you'll know all about it chimera...:D

Thanks for your time again bro!

Also, should I try to keep any/all old soil out of the new pot, or is some Ok? First transplant for me here.

  4. try a micro nute called CAL MG it has zinc and mg, when you use R.O. water you need to put back some micro nutes, mix that with liquid worm castings and superthrive b-vitimans and give a good watering, it works for me, the b vititamans take care of stress btw. good luck
