I'm using a 600w HPS bulb for my seedlings (most are about 2-3 inches high) and I'm experiencing very slow growth. My light is about 3ft from my plants, which look green and healthy. I was wondering whether it's worthwhile to go and buy a 600w Metal Halide bulb - would there be a huge difference in the growth rate? Any help or advice welcome Cheers
I personally think ur HPS will be fine, Just wait it out and be patient, its not like ur gonna get a bud over night hehe
you might wanna go to a CFL for a few weeks, then come with the HPS. The HPS might be too strong for the lil' guy!(hopfully a girl)
hps should be fine, if you only have one room i would not suggest spending the money on the mh. if you plan on having a veg room and a bloom room then it is a different story. i certainly would not take them out from under the 600 watt and put them under floros. if you wanted to give them some blue spectrum you might add some floros along with your hps though. but if you really want them to take off i would recommend worm castings and peruvian seabird guano for veg.
