Help/ Advice for setup indoors - 4 plants

  1. Hey Everyone :). Newbie here from SW Ontario. Going to try my first grow indoors. Want to grow 4 Plants from clones that I should be getting in about 2 weeks. Right now I have nothing for equipment, soil, nuits, tent, etc and I have no idea what I should start out with. Only thing I know is I would like to grow with HPS/MH light. I would love to get input and suggestions please. I want to do a journal as well and post here when I get started to hopefully help other newbies out from what I learn with this grow and all your help and advice :).
    Thanks everyone :).

  2. look into organic.. No till revisited thread on here.. Wish i would have discovered it years ago

  3. otherwise read about vpd and get what needed to maintain proper vpd.. My vote is organic and follow vpd and youll kill it from the start

  4. Also while I am on board with HID lighting and use it myself save supplemental led the world says good LED lighting is better

  5. Thanks @frostchaser for the input. I found the no till thread and I got a lot of reading to do. Plan to get a 4x4 tent. 600w light should be more than fine correct? Now I just need to figure out what brands to buy. I would like to get everything setup before the clones show up.

  6. for hid 1000 is built for a 4 x 4.. 600 will work but 1000 is ideal.. And seriously raises potential! As far as the no till thread goes the 1st 10 pages tell you most of what you need to know then the continuing conversation at current is kind of proof that it works. I have read through the entire thing and in truth am just about to start my 1st run of no till but everyone I have seen through reading that has converted says nothing but good things and I have seen no one go back to their old methods

  7. Plus seems a given organic produces better bud by far.. Some argue not quite as quick and some argue not quite as much yield but many refute those arguments.. I have seen noone say that organic isnt better tasting and smelling

    • Agree Agree x 1
  8. Don’t think I will be able to grow organic my first round since I won’t have any time to let it cook before I can use it. My clones will be here in the next week or 2. Other suggestions? Should I go and see what my local shops have for soils? Or any brand best for beginners? Was going to plant in 5 gallon pots right?

  9. 5 gallon is good. Alot of people say good things about coco.. Good yield and quick but have to feed daily..

  10. I am coming from Fox farm soil and if I wasn't moving to organic would be moving to coco

  11. I should say I don't know much about Coco other than it has yielded good results from what I have read. Not sure what pot size is right. 5 gallons is what I would use if I was using Fox farm soil..

  12. Yeah if you're not gonna go organic then go with coco mate.
Feeding bottled nutes in soil is a hundred times harder. Got sooo many more things you need to worry about.
In coco you just feed week nutes every day and not much can go wrong.
    Nothing media specific anyway.
If you've got a spare 80 sheets then I'd also recommend autopots.
Sure the 4 pot systems go for 80ish.
Then you just gotta fill a bucket with week nutes and the plants feed themselves.
Can't get any easier and the results are as good as any :)
