Help a guy get a piece

Unless you are made of money don't spend too much. For vapes you can get them for cheap the Magic flight lunch box cost about $90 and i've never heard anything bad about it. For a pipe I wouldn't spend more than 40. $20-30 should get you a nice thick one. You are just starting out so you don't need a $500 roor or thousand dollar toro/soveirnty w/e. Just go to your local headshop and look around. My first piece was a realllly nice bubbler for $82 blown by the #1 blower in my state that year. I broke it while cleaning my room not six months later

 

I'll keep it concise. The main factor in both is the thickness of the glass. That's generally going to set the price and getting a thick piece is worth it in case it drops or what not. Now bubblers are convenient because they have the option of adding water to reduce the harshness of smoke but they are generally not as easily portable as bowls are. From my experience the water in a bubbler generally makes little difference. Bubblers will also be more expensive. The rest is up to you (size, bowl depth, etc.) but I implore you to check out all pieces because if one calls to you that is usually the right one.

 

Well it's pretty much just personal preference and your price range..you can get a nice spoon/pipe for the same price you can get a decent bubbler for. Most shops at least..you need to go to your local head shop and just check some shit out. Personally I'd just get a small bong, or a decent bubbler, because anything that has water in it will be easier on your lungs, cooler smoke, etc. For the bubbler you load it the same and everything, you just put a little bit of water into the base..you'll have to experiment with how much, or ask dude at the shop.

Edit- You'll probably want to spend at least $20 maybe $25, and no more than $40 or so for your first piece..just hit up the shop and see what you like. I'm sure dude at the shop would be glad to answer any questions you have also.

 

OH, and the most important thing about your new piece... Is giving it a good name the first time you get high with it

You can get some quality pipes for good prices if you shop around. And trust me pipe has always been my most trusted and reliable piece.

 

whats ur spending limit? cause a run of the mill pipe should be like 20-25 and like 35-40 for a bubbler. a bubbler is more or less a bong/pipe hybrid. slightly bigger than a pipe, but with a downstem and an extra compartment for water. works the same way as a bong, the downstem is attached to the bowl, and the smoke travels from the bowl down the downstem itno the water, where it is filetered. they both generally have carb holes as opposed to a slide, but not always. some bubs have slides, but this is usually on more expensive pieces.



for a newer smoker, id reccomend a pipe personally. easier to clean, cheaper, and more portable. bubs are portable also, but as theres the extra space for water, so theyre not as concealable, and u dont want that nasty water spilling in ur pocket. u can use a bubbler as a dry piece, but that kinda defeats the purpose imo.

when u buy the piece, hold it in ur hands first and inspect it. make sure its thicker glass so its not as fragile. make sure the hole in the bowl isnt huge, so the bud doesnt fall right throgugh, though that can be remedied by some screens. make sure the carb hole isnt tiny, so u can clear it nice and fast.

as far as packing the bowl goes, since ur getting ur first pirce im asssuming u dont have a grinder. my advice would be to break up the bud into small pieces using ur fingers, no need to get anal rentive about it, but the smaller the buds broken up the more evenly it burns, and the easier it is to get it cherried. grinders arnt a neccesity with pieces, but with blunts/joints they really help the proccess.

make sure the first pice of bud u put into the bowl is big enogh to block the hole so the weed doesnt fall right through, and from there keep putting more in. pack it down lightly with ur finger so its nice and secure.

and when u smoke a bubbler, u never have to worry about eating scooby snacks, sicne the ash just falls into the water. unless u put in a screen, u can be sure ur gonna eat ash from time to time with a dry piece.

and as a side note, seeing as this is ur first glass piece, fully expect to break it at some point in time. ive yet to meet a stoner who hasnt broken glass.

 

id just get a pipe, can get one for 15-20 and a cheap bong, on here is like 20-25 i think but idk about thickness or quality of hits on a cheap bong

I spent $17 on my first bong, then $5 for a little martini bowl..ended up getting a $15 bowl in the end but anyways..a nice little glass bong would be about $20-$25 with the bowl with it.
Gotta check your local shop though.

 

The cheapest glass bong ive seen ran for about 30 dollars. Although i would recommend to make sure its decently think. If its too thin its likely its gonna break on you. But really you just have to check your local headshop to know for sure.

 

if ur looking for a cheap, reliable bong, ur best bet is accrilic. they hit pretty nice, and u can get one for like 30 bucks. good luck breaking a plastc bong.

as far as glass bongs go, cheaper prices often corrolate with thin glass/shotty quality.

ELHE and weed star makes some good GonG bongs for the price. u can get a small ELHE with ice pinhces for like 50 bucks, also, as u progress, u can add an ash catcher and a duffuser for extra smothness

 

Do the right thing. Don't be stupid. Get one of these. Seriously.

Okay, really serious now. For $88-99, you get a vaporizer that you can:

1. Share
2. Smoke by yourself
3. Spare your lungs
4. Have odorless smoke that your parents/police/whomever can't detect
5. carry almost anywhere and everywhere
6. Drop and almost not worry about
7. Get it replaced if it breaks because of the LIFETIME warranty
8. Order online with no complications from shady pipeshops
9. Get baked. Need I say more?

No matter how careful you are, Murphy's law will take into effect and either you or some retard will break it. If its too expensive for you now, think of how expensive it is for you to replace the broken pieces you'll eventually get? Plus, you can always buy a nice spoon/bong/bat/chillum/big vape/bubbler later.

 

just get a nice spoon pipe. $30.
pack that shit tight, light it, let off the carb, inhale, be high as fuck.
if youre just getting a G atta time you probably wont need to clean it that often but just look around GC, theres a million threads on how to maintain it.

ohh, and you have to name it or else its just an object instead of your bestfriend.
