Help… this is getting BIG!

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Addhulst, Jun 1, 2023.

  1. Hello everyone,

Very first grow of a mimosa automatic which is now in late week 5 and getting very bulky in the tent….. Wanted to get your advice on how’s my first plant looking (pretty healthy to me) and if there was any advantages in cutting the fan leaves (again it’s an auto flower) for her to focus on Flo?

    many thanks,
    Alex

  2. Your plants look very healthy. I normally defoliate when a plant's leaves are unruly and start blocking out the light to other tops. I think one important aspect is to try to evenly level out the canopy so that all the buds become top buds and receive the same amount of light. Keep up the good work ;)

  3. no advantage . especially an autoflower,, those fan leaves are like solar panels for the plant. Never trim them. even on photoperiods...

  4. That's what I said with my first boner, stand back I don't know how big this is gonna get. Jokes aside, all the same strain? 2 pots look smaller & have not flipped yet. Can U rotate the pots? Get some additional light where needed?

  5. She's looking nice, a bit stretchy. How high is your light? Wattage?

  6. I usually defoliate the plant and remove all the big fan leaves 2 weeks before flipping and again 2 weeks into flowering and again every 2-3 weeks..you want the bottom bud sights to get light so they too can grow.but also remember that the leaves are solar panels to the plant and too much can and will stunt it's grow.

  7. I disagree on half of your reply. You want the bottom bud sites to receive light and the only thing those fan leaves will do is block them. Also I agree that they are solar panels but I guess it comes down to how heavy a defoliation you do on them.
