Howdy all, my name's JB, I'm new to the City and live in Wisconsin. I'm also relatively new to cannabis. I suffer from Crohn's Disease and recently had a foot or two taken out of my guts. After suffering through a slew of prescription medications (whose side effects were worse than what they were supposed to cure), I've found that cannabis is by far the best treatment for my Crohn's (it's an autoimmune disease found in the gut). I got involved with local Medicinal Marijuana, and have since met a bunch of people in wheelchairs and on crutches, suffering everything from MS to HIV to autoimmune disorders. It makes me so angry that people are denied their medicine (but not the medicine that pharmaceutical companies can make billions off of). I've also changed pretty profoundly since discovering cannabis -- spiritually and all, I guess you'd say. It's truly opened my mind and I'm a better person. I find having to score a real drag and would like to get into indoor growing, although I have no gardening experience whatsoever. I'm currently living in an apartment without too much room to spare -- I was thinking perhaps I should buy a pre-made grow cabinet? Are there sites where you can read about others' experiences with different products? All the ads in High Times mag look great, but who knows? I guess what I need is a Consumer Reports for cannabis and cannabis products. OK, thanks for letting me share.
Welcome to the City! You will find that it will most likely be less expensive to make your own grow closet rather than buying a premade one and have far more options for a grow. I recommend reading up on growing here and then trying it out on your own. There are plenty of people here that can help with it
Mate i feel for ya .... i personally know 3 people wif Crohn's ... and its a shitty disease, litterally, arrghhh that was a bad joke ..... but honestly you will find plenty of people willing to help you here ... and remember ... the only silly question is a question not asked
Thanks for the responses -- and yes, Crohn's is a real pain in the ass, as we say. So I figured from looking around that it would be cheaper to buy a premade setup, but is it really a lot cheaper to build your own? That's cool, too, although I am not usually a mr. fix-it type. You think it's easy to build a set up for one or two plants when you don't have a lot of space? ~ j
