I know some old school heavy electronic music you may wanna try....
These bands were all innovators of heavy electronic music that was called "Industrial" music at the time [early to mid 80's thru early 90's]

    Skinny Puppy
    Nitzer Ebb
    Front 242
    FrontLine Assembly
    Cabaret Voltaire

  4. These are all great groups, however I would say some of them are more EBM then industrial. Some more great industrial and electronic groups:
    Clock DVA
    Test Dept.
    Nurse with Wound

    ^^^All great bands

Electronic Body Music was a short lived genre IMHO....I call those bands industrial anyway

ANything on WAX TRAX! Records is great [the label is no more] WAX TRAX! also had a sub-label called PIAS (play it again sam) that released lots of european electronic bands

Also, Nettwerk records released lots of great stuff in the early days of the label

Invisible records is an innovative label

Metropolis is another great label and has lots of current releases today

  6. I know what you mean, most of it now is overblown dance music. I think the real spirit of EBM survived on in Aggrotech stuff like Suicide Commando (OP check them out)
