Heating issues Jardin dr40

  1. ok so a week ago i began growing with a 400w and everything was going fine up until yesterday when i had to move my lilttle grow op. the only way i could continue to grow was to fit 9 plants in a jardin grow room dr40. this grow tent is stuffed in my closet with a 400w in there stretching the sides every so slightly. anyways i have a 6 inch clip fan for the plants and i have a 65cfm 4 inch exhaust fan. The problem is this... it reaches 100-103 degrees F in there. dimensions are as follow 16"x16"x48". i cant leave the grow tent open. The light itself blocks atleast 85% of the air going up to the exhaust fan. any ideas???

  2. you have too big of a light in too small of a space

you have too many plants for that tent

both of these im sure you already know

    need pics of your light

i have the same tent im currently working on... the only way i could fit my light in there was to turn it diagonally across the tent... worked like a champ then

nine square feet in your grow
twenty seven cfm rated fan or greater to get fresh air
54 cfm rated fan or greater if you add a carbon filter

this is what i always consider minimums and you have a giant light in there man

can you take out the light and just dangle it in there? maybe this will free up some air movement till you can get a larger grow????

you also only have flaps in there as intakes... so your gonna have to leave those open or your temps will shoot up.. you have no choice on that at all on the flaps...

maybe a homemade air chiller to cool the tent down

or get a small ac to cool it down
point a fan to push cooler air toward your grow...

still need pics to see what you have going on

  3. Remove the light from the tent and use your closet as your grow room?

  4. thanks for the replies guys. i went out and bought a 125w cfl for now. went over budget so this was all i could get. i am going to hang on to the 400w until i can use it for a room. till then this is the setup i am running.

  5. Where do you plan on moving the plants when they get bigger? That's waay to many for a DR40, I just got a DR80 and I can do 4 comfortably, 5 max, 6 if I do SOG.

  6. i was thinking of veg one month and flower for another. also im only thinking ill maybe get 3-4 females out of these so space should be better than it is now. i really wanted a dr 60 but they were out of them at my local hydro store. how much bigger is yours than the 60?

  7. The DR80 is 31.5" x 31.5" x 63" whereas the DR60 is 23.5" x 23.5" x 55"
