Hey guys, new here, first cannabis forum I've ever joined. I've recently been growing in my attic, and the temperatures down here in Georgia are starting to drop. It will get as low as 30 F on some mornings. I'm not using any lights, all sun, so I was wondering, how could I keep the temperatures up without setting my house on fire because of all the fiberglass insulation? As of now, I have a heating pad under the 5 gal, but I'm not too sure how that's going to heat up the soil as this will be my first night trying that. Post your ideas on how you think I should heat these plants up guys! They're just going into the flowering stage, I can already smell them if I get close enough
How about this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/LifeSmart-LifePro-LS-1001HH-Infrared-Quartz-Electric-Portable-Heater-w-Remotes-/350860445938?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51b0e988f2
How big is the attic? One large room? What lights? What light cycle? Veg and flower? I have an extensive setup in my attic. About to hit prime growing season for it with temps dropping. Sent from my SM-G900P using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Yes, one large room. I would say 1 1/2 bedrooms or a master bed room. Using a large windowsill. It's autoflower, just starting to flower.
So I checked the heating pad results, I put it at the bottom of the pot so obviously the closer to the bottom the warmer. the top is about neutral heat, an inch from the top is noticeably warmer. I was wondering if it matters that only the soil is getting heat, in other words, do the leaves need heat too? thanks!
I don't know if you have it where you live but where I live there's a store called "value village" where people give stuff to the store for free and all the proceeds go to charity, you can get nice heaters for under $50. I don't have any suggestions on models but if you want to save money second hand stuff is awesome.
