Due to my current living situation (dirty as fuck room-mates), I'm not able to cook for myself. I pretty much have to eat out 90% of the time. But fast food is so terrible for you, so my question is: Where can I look for healthier alternatives if I have to eat out? I try to eat more chicken/less beef, and pick up wheat bread if it's available at a sub place or whatever. And I'll pick up a little tub of fruit salad or something. But that stuff gets old pretty fast, and I gotta keep changing it up so I don't get complacent and start scarfing Big Macs again. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks blades, peace and love.
Taco bell has a healthy options menu! It's basically a bunch of chicken/steak tacos with just pico de gallo and lettuce and tomatos- NO CHEESE. Cheese is your enemy if you're trying to eat heathily. In moderation, it's all good Watch your salads at fast food places because a lot of the time, the dressing has just as much fat and calorie content as a burger. If you're getting a sandwhich, always hold the mayo, and consider tossing your top bun to cut calories. My suggestion is to tell your roomates they are pigs, and to clean their shit so you can use the kitchen you're paying for. I wouldn't put up with that shit
Those are good suggestions, thanks. I'm not really trying to totally empty my diet of fattening foods, some of it just has to stay. Mayo and cheese have to stay. The top bun thing I'll try though. I'll look into the taco bell thing too, I didn't think of that. I guess what I'm looking for is different places to eat.
Taco Bell has a new "drive threw diet" which has 7grams of fat in each item.. Its not a very healthy alternative, but its wayy better than a BIG MAC.. If I were you I would go to the store, buy a loaf of 100% whole wheat, some nice cheese slices, condiments, and good deli meets from the store.. Hillshirefarm has some dank ass products yo. Back to fastfood.. I couldn't give you an opinion based on food choices in your area, cause I dont know where you live.. Quiznos/Subway are better than most options. Almost all places have a healthy alternative, even mc'donalds. Try wendys fresh wrap, a local italian places low fat chicken alfredo or something mayne.. Good luck Edit: and to the cheese is the enemy no its not.. Everything in moderation is good, you need to know how much carbs/proteins/and fats your body needs.. Cheese is a healthy fat, along with fish oils and such.. IF you use fats correctly it will boost your metabolism/vitality.
Healthy Option Menu is not disappointing. I'd reprimand your roomies though, cause that is fucked up. I have to deal with the same shit with mine. I mean, it is one thing to have your bedroom messy, thats your space. But an area that you have to share with another, that is not fair.
Every day just stop at a new restraunt/ or food joint.. Take a look at there menu for a while, no body is going to bother you.. Dont be shy with food, if you are then you miss out. Nearly 95% of all fast food/restraunts have healthy alternatives. Even pizza!
TACO BELL DIET FTW lol But yeah, like blades been sayin', just check around and you can prlly find some healthy shit all over. And to buying the bread n condiments n such...thats a good idea too.
Thanks for the suggestions all. I've talked with my room mates before and nothing seems to work. Even if I was willing to clean up after them (which I'm not) I literally could not do it fast enough to keep up with them. I'm not really pushing it now because my living situation is about to change (fuck yessss!) so it is what it is. The problem with getting sandwich meat and shit is like, I have no where to prepare it, unless I did so in my room or some shit. I wouldn't even dare preparing any kind of food in that kitchen man, it's disgusting. I think I'll check out the taco bell healthy menu for lunch today.
Just get Subway get water as your drink and yogurt instead of chips and you'll be set...Just avoid the double meat subs and go for just turkey or just ham or the roasted chicken breast.
Chinese take-out. I don't like chinese, myself, but they must be doin something right. I don't think I've ever seen an overweight chinese person...
Chinese food healthy? Seriously? Next time you're at a chinese food place and you see the workers on break, notice what they eat. They're not eating the greasy shit, they're eating the plain white rice. At least thats what I notice at EVERY chinese restaurant I've been to.
I don't eat chinese food...mainly cause I don't care for rice or vegetables, so I've never been in a chinese restaurant... It was just a thought
Burger King always had some good salads. Arby's but they are exspensive as shit. Wendys has some alright stuff too.
